Proceed with caution upgrading to the May 2025 security patch on the P6 and P8 series!
The new bootloaders for this update have increased the anti-rollback counter, which means they will burn a fuse on your phone when booted for the first time.
Once you boot into the May update, you can no longer downgrade to an earlier release!
Doing so will lead to a total brick that we cannot currently help you recover from.
Heed this warning or you'll be forced to show your shame and call Google to get it fixed! (And they will likely charge you or send you to repair shops that will!)

If you're manually installing this update using a package of factory images (i.e.
That means you should NEVER use either
Otherwise, you risk rebooting into the April 2025 (or older) bootloader and will have no choice but to either wait for us to have an unbrick solution, or call Google and be ready to waste money on getting it repaired by them.

- This build contains some of the Material 3 Expressive changes covered in last week's announcements, including a visual refresh to notifications, quick settings, the lock screen, and the launcher.
- If you prefer to leave the Beta program and receive the public stable release of Android 16, you can do so without wiping your device by opting out and not installing today’s QPR1 Beta 1 update. If you opt-out of the program after installing Beta 1 or any future updates, all user data on the device will get wiped per usual program guidelines. Opting out will trigger a ‘Downgrade’ OTA. Ignore this update and wait for the Android 16 public release instead.

I repeat, DO NOT attempt to flash manually modified bootloader partitions to your Pixel! Including other "unknowns" like the DPM partition or the devinfo partition, which follow the same structure as the bootloader partitions!
These files not only have their own hashes that you need to watch out for, they are signed using Google's private keys which we cannot legally obtain!
Attempting to flash a manually modified bootloader WILL BRICK your phone. And as we just learned, attempting to flash a manually modified DPM will cause your phone to become unresponsive for a scary amount of time before EUB mode functions.
