In a Press Release today, the Government Media Office in Gaza said the scale of destruction caused by Israelโs two-year-long war of annihilation has reached levels unprecedented in modern history.
According to official estimates issued in mid-October 2025, the amount of rubble and debris left behind by Israeli bombardment stands between 65 and 70 million tons.
The office warned that removing the rubble will face serious challenges, primarily due to the Israeli ban on heavy machinery and equipment needed for clearance, coupled with the ongoing closure of all crossings.
Initial assessments further indicate that more than 20,000 unexploded munitionsโincluding bombs and missiles dropped by the Israeli militaryโremain scattered across the Strip, posing a lethal threat to civilians and rescue teams.

Palestinian mothers who lost their children during the course of war on Gaza often face the heartbreaking task of identifying their children's bodies using whatever fragments remain.
In many cases, they rely on familiar items like a piece of clothing, a wristwatch, or a single shoe. When bodies are severely damaged, only bones or partial remains can be used for recognition.
