In June 2024, 13-year-old Mazyouna Damoo survived an Israeli missile strike on her apartment in Nuseirat refugee camp, Gaza, which killed her siblings Hala, 13, and Mohannad, 10.

Pulled from the rubble with half her face destroyed and her jawbone exposed, Mazyouna faced near-certain death. Her family’s repeated pleas for medical evacuation were initially ignored by Israel, leaving her wounds infected and excruciatingly painful.

After international media coverage, Israel finally permitted her to travel. Last November, Mazyouna, her mother, and her surviving sister Tala arrived in El Paso, Texas, where she has undergone multiple reconstructive surgeries at a children’s hospital, including rebuilding her cheek, lips, and jawbone. Temporary prosthetics now allow her to eat, speak, and regain mobility, with dental implants planned for the future.

“When we examined the bodies, we found that large parts were missing, there were half bodies, bodies without heads, without limbs, without eyes, and without internal organs.

Dr. Ismail Al-Thawabta, Director General of the Government Media Office in Gaza, says Israeli occupation forces are stealing organs from the bodies of slain Palestinian detainees returned to Gaza in recent days.

He said dozens of bodies delivered near the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis were found mutilated and missing vital parts, including eyes, limbs, and internal organs.

According to Al-Thawabta, many of the corpses appeared to have been run over by tanks or partially melted, while others showed signs of torture and execution.

He described the findings as “shocking evidence of war crimes,” confirming that a joint governmental committee has been formed to document and present the evidence to international courts.

Al-Thawabta added that the bodies were discovered inside metal containers left by Israeli occupation forces, proving that Israel has committed systematic torture, executions, and organ theft during its ongoing genocide in Gaza.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer noted the force will take time to organize, as the terms of reference and operational details are still being finalized. The initiative follows a recent UN General Assembly endorsement promoting a two-state solution and supporting the deployment of a temporary international stabilization mission in Gaza.

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) warned on Thursday that the health situation in Gaza remains extremely critical, noting that the ceasefire has not been accompanied by the opening of crossings or the delivery of humanitarian aid.

In a statement, MSF said it has seen no improvement in its ability to bring in aid, citing the same obstacles that have blocked assistance.
