United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA):

Almost all of Gaza's farmland is destroyed or inaccessible.

A kilogram of tomatoes that once cost 60 cents now sells for $15, if it can be found at all.

Families who once relied on their land for a living now have no income.

Many people cannot afford the food slowly returning to the markets.

Until Gaza's agricultural sector is rebuilt, aid must be allowed to flow without restriction.

Almost no part of the Gaza Strip, just 41 km long, was spared Israeli bombardment before the fragile ceasefire. UNDP’s Jaco Cilliers said destruction now covers about 84%, rising to 92% in Gaza City.

A joint UN, EU, and World Bank assessment estimated total damage at $70 billion. Cilliers called the devastation “unprecedented.” He said $20 billion is urgently needed over the next three years.

After more than 12 hours of relentless searching, Civil Defense teams in Gaza recovered the body of English teacher Ghada Rabah from beneath the rubble of her home in the Tel Al-Hawa neighborhood. Her remains were found nearly a month after she had been trapped under the debris.

Civil Defense teams reached Ghada Rabah’s home in Tel al-Hawa three days after the initial strike, responding to her plea for rescue. But the house had been hit again, and no trace of her or her family remained, until her body was recovered after the ceasefire.
