Carl Sagan's Pale Blue Dot speech (1994) was inspired by Voyager 1's 1990 photo of Earth, taken from 3.7 billion miles away, beyond Neptune's orbit. He used it to highlight Earth's fragility, humanity’s smallness, and the need for unity and environmental stewardship.
