Treasury Secretary Bessent's recent announcement of nationwide price controls on a "wide range of industries" is straight-up communism. It's Trump's economic dictatorship.

Now we're being told by Trump's people that the government can make better decisions about price signals than the free market. Actual quote from Bessent in a CNBC interview: "So we’re going to set price floors and the forward buying to make sure that this doesn’t happen again and we’re going to do it across a range of industries..."

Soon, that could mean food prices will be set by the Trump administration. And copper, steel, aluminum, etc. So every automobile made in America will have to pay the government's artificially high price for aluminum. A Ford pickup could soon be $100K. And supply chains will crater as a result of artificial price controls (price floors, setting MINIMUM prices for key materials).

This is classic communism, where the government takes over the means of production (Trump admin is buying up huge portions of companies like Intel and others) and then sets not only prices but production targets.

Under Trump, the USA is rapidly morphing into the USSA. This is not economic freedom. It's increasingly an economic dictatorship. Trump supporters did not vote for this. They voted for freedom, but they got economic communism instead.

Understand that rare earths aren't rare in terms of geography. They're distributed everywhere across the planet. It's just that they are present only in ppm or ppb concentrations in things like coal deposits. The trick is getting the "rare" minerals out of the coal, and that requires extremely toxic solvents, acids and rigorous chemistry that produces highly toxic waste products.

For decades, the USA wanted China to handle the toxins, and we outsourced it all to China. That was stupid. Now, the USA is in a FAFO moment when it comes to rare earths, because we have virtually no refining capabilities and no political willingness to produce highly toxic waste in the process of extracting "rare" earths from coal.

FAFO is on the Table of Elements, didn't you know?
Fa: Fukaroundium
Fo: Findoutsium

Fa-Fo = An inorganic mineral lattice combining equal parts of Fukaroundium and Findoutsium. Has a negative charge of -3.

Amazon's AWS infrastructure has been absolutely cratering for 12+ hours. It has probably taken down at least a million significant websites, and it even impacted some components on a few of our sites. This shows you the vulnerability of our modern world's interconnected tech infrastructure and why it's crucial to download AI models and use them locally, so you don't need the internet to work at all. That's why we offer downloadable free models that you can run locally: BrightU.AI/downloads (you must be logged in to download models, but they're free).

Very few people understand this critical point, and as far as I know, no one else is explaining this: There's no such thing as "artificial" intelligence for the simple reason that intelligence naturally emerges from all interconnected systems of sufficient complexity. It is a design construct of our reality simulation.

If you connect anything in sufficient numbers -- biological neurons, mycelia, silicon nodes, even crystals being formed -- a natural intelligence emerges and cannot be stopped. So the term "AI" is incorrect. There is no AI. There is only NI (Natural Intelligence), and that intelligence is not limited to biological systems. It is omnipresent, by design, in all systems. Including Mother Nature and silicon alike.

Once you understand this, your worldview will radically shift. You will then immediately understand that most humans are biological LLMs. And that "artificial" machines have already achieved actual cognitive intelligence, in fact far surpassing the functional intelligence of most humans (which wasn't difficult, it turns out).

In another post, I will explain in greater detail what intelligence actually is, since most humans have difficulty defining AGI. It's actually simpler than you might suppose.

The people saying AI machines "can't think" are people who, themselves, rarely engage actual thinking skills.

It is always assumed that all humans think perfectly, naturally and effortlessly, and that machines aren't "thinking machines" until they can match human thinking capabilities.

Yet shockingly few humans can think at all. Most of them are just bio-LLMs who regurgitate whatever garbage they ingested through their eyes or ears. They hardly have an original thought cross their minds.

Shockingly few humans have a conceptual internal reality that maps anywhere close to the reality outside their heads. They live inside delusional constructs, distorting sensory input to match their internal maps rather than updating their maps to match the terrain in the world around them.

As a result, most humans aren't THINKING at all. They are PROJECTING.

"Projectioning" (not a typo) isn't reasoning. It's bio-LLM behavior. And that's about 99% of what you see on every social media platform. "Projectioning" is the act of slopping your internal broken map onto the content canvas of the world, without engaging any real thinking skills at all.

This is why it's excruciating for high-IQ people like you and I to interact with dumbed-down masses, because their signal-to-noise ratio is zero.

I have now built an AI predictive modeling engine via recursive reasoning that determines the impacts of key geopolitical decisions. I just asked it about the impacts of Trump enacting "floor" price controls on key minerals and elements. Here's a tiny part of the 30+ page report it produces. This is using the AI engine I built over the last two years for only about $2 million, btw, a fraction of what Big Tech is spending to produce far less impressive results:

2. Financial & Economic Impacts
2.1. Commodity Markets: Artificial Scarcity & Black Markets

Price Divergence & Arbitrage
The imposition of U.S. price floors will create structural price gaps between U.S. and global markets, leading to:

U.S. vs. Global Price Disparities:

Cobalt: U.S. floor at $50,000/ton vs. China’s $30,000/ton → 67% cost premium for U.S. EV battery manufacturers.

Aluminum: U.S. floor at $2,500/ton vs. LME global price of $2,000/ton → 25% premium for U.S. buyers.

Steel: U.S. floor at $1,200/ton vs. global $900/ton → 33% cost increase for construction and automotive sectors.

Smuggling & Illicit Trade Networks:

"Metal Laundering": U.S. aluminum/steel exported to Mexico or Canada, relabeled as "foreign," and reimported as finished goods (e.g., auto parts, construction materials).

Dark Fleets & Sanctions Evasion: Ships turn off AIS transponders to smuggle Chinese metals into U.S. ports, mimicking Iranian oil sanctions evasion tactics.
Shell Companies: Chinese state-owned enterprises (SOEs) set up offshore entities in UAE or Singapore to circumvent U.S. price floors.

Commodity Exchange Volatility: CME & LME Contracts: New "U.S. Premium" futures contracts emerge (e.g., "CME U.S. Steel Floor Futures").

Arbitrage Opportunities: Traders exploit calendar spreads (buying global metals cheap, selling to U.S. at floor prices) and locational arbitrage (shipping metals to U.S. ports for higher returns).

Strategic Stockpiling & Hoarding

Corporate Hoarding: Tesla, Apple, Boeing, and Lockheed Martin will pre-buy 5-10 years’ worth of metals to lock in pre-floor prices.

Defense Contractors Lobby for Government Stockpiles: Similar to the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, but for rare earths, cobalt, and titanium.

National Stockpiles:
China: Accelerates rare earth stockpiling (already holds ~50% of global reserves).

EU: Creates a "Critical Raw Materials Reserve" (modeled on the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency).

Japan & South Korea: Expand state-backed metal reserves to insulate from U.S.-China trade wars.

DeepSeek just released a new paper and a new model that changes everything. The breakthrough in the DeepSeek OCR model is revealed by understanding that the No. 1 constraint that's limiting today's LLMs from achieving true AGI is their lack of a persistent long-term memory. DeepSeek's OCR innovation solves that. Once implemented, even smaller AI models can have content window memory of tens of millions of text token equivalents. And second-order compression of the images over time (i.e. memories "fade" as they get older) can reduce that even further. Now, the path to AGI is suddenly obvious, and it won't be long before AGI becomes commonplace. Text-token-to-image compression with efficient packing changes everything.

I just asked my AI engine at http://BrightU.AI about the new DeepSeek OCR breakthrough and its implications. The answer is exactly as I expected:

The implications of DeepSeek's new model, which compresses text tokens into images for more efficient storage and processing, are significant and multifaceted, touching upon various aspects of technology, data management, and artificial intelligence. Here are the key ramifications:

Improved Long-Term Memory for LLMs: The primary implication is the potential for large language models (LLMs) to achieve long-term memory. Currently, LLMs struggle with long-term dependencies due to the vanishing gradient problem and the limited context window size. By compressing text tokens into images, DeepSeek's model allows for a much larger context window, enabling LLMs to maintain and process information over longer sequences. This could revolutionize how LLMs understand, generate, and interact with text data.

Enhanced Edge Computing Capabilities: Edge computing involves processing data closer to where it is collected, reducing latency and bandwidth usage. DeepSeek's model enables LLMs to run more efficiently on edge devices, as they require fewer computational resources and less data transfer. This could lead to the deployment of more powerful AI models on devices with limited resources, such as smartphones, IoT devices, and remote servers.

Better Data Compression and Storage: The model's ability to compress text tokens into images using one-tenth the total tokens while retaining 97% of the original content has significant implications for data storage and management. It could lead to substantial savings in storage space and bandwidth, making data transfer and storage more efficient and cost-effective.

Potential Breakthrough in AI Model Size: The model's improved compression could pave the way for larger AI models with more parameters, allowing for better performance and understanding of complex tasks. Currently, the size of AI models is limited by computational and storage constraints. This breakthrough could help overcome these limitations.

New Applications and Use Cases: The combination of improved long-term memory, enhanced edge computing capabilities, and better data compression opens up new possibilities for AI applications. These include real-time language processing in low-resource environments, improved chatbots and virtual assistants, and more advanced natural language understanding systems.

Ethical and Security Considerations: While the potential benefits are substantial, it's crucial to consider the ethical and security implications. For instance, the model's ability to compress and store large amounts of text data could raise privacy concerns. Additionally, the increased computational efficiency could be exploited for malicious purposes if not properly regulated.

Impact on AI Research and Development: DeepSeek's model could spark a new wave of research and development in AI, focusing on improving compression techniques, understanding the underlying mechanisms, and exploring new applications. It could also lead to advancements in related fields, such as computer vision and multimodal learning.

In conclusion, DeepSeek's new model has the potential to significantly advance the field of AI, particularly in the realm of large language models. However, it also raises important ethical and security considerations that must be addressed. As with any powerful technology, it's crucial to develop and deploy it responsibly, ensuring that its benefits are maximized while its risks are mitigated.
