Under Stalin’s rule in the Soviet Union, the Bolsheviks launched brutal campaigns that targeted independent farming, free expression, and any dissent from its citizens (ring any bells?). The forced collectivisation of agriculture in the 1930s led to widespread famine, especially in Ukraine (known as the bread basket of Europe, has once again been decimated). Censorship was rampant—books, newspapers, and art were tightly controlled to align with state propaganda (sounds familiar).
The NKVD, Stalin’s secret police, operated a vast surveillance network (digital ID and facial recognition, anyone?) imprisoning or executing perceived enemies (happening now, if you open your eyes). Citizens were encouraged to denounce neighbours and even family members for anti-Soviet remarks (anti-lockdowns was a tester). Fear and paranoia gripped society (people are currently scared and self-censoring through fear of backlash), as Stalin consolidated power through purges

When we blame this government, we miss the point that successive governments, since Blair, have deliberately brought us to this place. It’s a slow creep mission, that is speeding up to combat opposition to it. You were taught to hate the opposition, but the opposition is on your side.
