I'm conflicted on A24's Civil War. The movie has some incredible acting and intense action scenes. But, the plot NEEDED more exposition. It was difficult to feel the true weight of the film's events without the necessary context that led up to them.
Overall, it's worth seeing. Just know it's a more ambiguous movie and perhaps that was the point.

I had a chance to watch the first 4 episodes of #TheAcolyte and I'm conflicted.
There are plot points and characters that are very interesting and engaging, particularly the four main Jedi: Sol, Indara, Torbin, and Kelnacca. The problem is that we don't get nearly enough of them and I would honestly rather have seen a show about their adventures than the story we got.
The twin plot was growing on me by the fourth episode but ultimately the writing wasn't strong enough for it to be the main plot. Some of the character choices felt very contrived.
Ultimately, this Star Wars series has some cool action scenes, interesting mythology, and a few great side characters. Unfortunately, it falls a little flat when it comes to writing and execution.
With all that said, I am looking forward to seeing how they wrap this up.
