I did what I needed to do to survive, then I did a bunch of other stuff I felt like doing.

Each gives to the other what he has in his heart

أَفَمَن يَمْشِى مُكِبًّا عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهِۦٓ أَهْدَىٰٓ أَمَّن يَمْشِى سَوِيًّا عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍۢ مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ

I aspire to become known to the angels and anonymous to humans.

اللهمَّ إنك عفوٌّ تُحبُّ العفوَ فاعفُ عنِّي

whatever you feed your eyes,
enters your heart.
lower your gaze from everything harmful.
out of sight, out of mind.

it all felt better when Allah ﷻ said:
وَلَلْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لَكَ مِنَ الْأُولى
'and the next life is far better for you than this one'

I can't hold a conversation but I'll hold your hand

your feelings were valid
but your behavior WAS NOT OKAY

"وأنا الهدوءُ سكونهُ وجمالُهُ
وأحبُ هيبتَهُ وأعشقُ حالَهُ"

for all the things I became and all the things I did not.

مُستَمسّكًا بِمُحَمّدٍ وبِآلهِ
إنّ المُوفّقَ مَن بِهِم يَستَعصِمُ
