"We were with the Messenger of Allah (๏ทบ) collecting the Qur'an on pieces of cloth, so the Messenger of Allah (๏ทบ) said:

'Tuba is for Ash-Sham.' So we said: 'Why is that O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'Because the angels of Ar-Rahman spread their wings over it.'"

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said,

โ€œVerily, Allah Almighty will give respite to the wrongdoer until He seizes him and they cannot escape.โ€ Then, the Prophet recited the verse, โ€œSuch is the seizure of your Lord, when He takes hold of the cities while they are doing wrong. Verily, His seizure is agonizing and severe.โ€ (11:102)

Allah's Messenger (๏ทบ) said,

"The example of a believer is that of a fresh tender plant; from whatever direction the wind comes, it bends it, but when the wind becomes quiet, it becomes straight again. Similarly, a believer is afflicted with calamities (but he remains patient till Allah removes his difficulties.) And an impious wicked person is like a pine tree which keeps hard and straight till Allah cuts (breaks) it down when He wishes.

The Messenger of Allah (๏ทบ) came out to us, we were made up of nine; five and four. The first of the numbers for the Arabs, and the latter for the non-Arabs.


He said:

'Listen, have you heard that after me there will leaders, whoever enters upon them and condones to their lies, and supports them in their oppression, then he is not from me & I am not from him, & he shall not drink with me from the Hawd. And whoever does not enter upon them, nor help them in their oppression, nor condones to their lies, then he is from me, and I am from him, and he shall drink with me at the Hawd.''

The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: โ€œWhilst I was sleeping, I saw the pillar of the Book being taken from beneath my head, and I thought that it was being taken away, so I followed it with my gaze, and it was taken to ash-Shaam. Verily faith, when tribulations come, will be in ash-Shaam.โ€

Narrated by Imam Ahmad in al-Musnad (36/62); classed as saheeh by the commentators on al-Musnad. It was classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Takhreej Ahaadeeth Fadaaโ€™il ash-Shaam wa Dimashq (p. 13)

Allah's Messenger (๏ทบ) ordered me to guard the Zakat revenue of Ramadan. Then somebody came to me and started stealing from the foodstuff. I caught him and said,"I will take you to Allah's Messenger (๏ทบ)!"

Then Abu Huraira described the whole narration and said: That person said (to me), "(Please don't take me to Allah's Messenger (๏ทบ) and I will tell you a few words by which Allah will benefit you.) When you go to your bed, recite Ayat-al-Kursi, (2.255) for then there will be a guard from Allah who will protect you all night long, and Satan will not be able to come near you till dawn."

(When the Prophet (๏ทบ) heard the story) he said (to me), "He (who came to you at night) told you the truth although he is a liar; and it was Satan."

I said to Abu Huraira that my two children had died. Would you narrate to me anything from Allah's Messenger (๏ทบ) a hadith which would soothe our hearts in our bereavements?


He said: โ€œYes, the Prophet said: Their young are roaming about in Paradise.โ€
If one of them meets his father (or he said his parents) he would take hold of his cloth, or he said with his hand as I take hold of the hem of your cloth (with my hand). And he (the child) would not take off (his hand) from it until Allah causes his father to enter Paradise.

Allah's Messenger (๏ทบ) said, "Whoever has oppressed another person concerning his reputation or anything else, he should beg him to forgive him before the Day of Resurrection when there will be no money (to compensate for wrong deeds), but if he has good deeds, those good deeds will be taken from him according to his oppression which he has done, and if he has no good deeds, the sins of the oppressed person will be loaded on him."

Allah's Messenger (๏ทบ) having said:

By Him in Whose Hand is my life, if you were not to commit sin, Allah would sweep you out of existence and He would replace (you by) those people who would commit sin and seek forgiveness from Allah, and He would have pardoned them.

The Prophet (๏ทบ) said, "The one who looks after a widow or a poor person is like a Mujahid (warrior) who fights for Allah's Cause, or like him who performs prayers all the night and fasts all the day."

that the Messenger of Allah (๏ทบ) said:
"When Allah wants good for his slave, He hastens his punishment in the world. And when He wants bad for His slave, He withholds his sins from him until he appears before Him on the Day of Judgement."


And with this (same) chain, (it was reported) from the Prophet (๏ทบ) who said:

"Indeed greater reward comes with greater trial. And indeed, when Allah loves a people He subjects them to trials, so whoever is content, then for him is pleasure, and whoever is discontent, then for him is wrath.
