Why dont bluewater cruisers have bulbous bows?
As the title question states, i'm curious as to why smaller sailing vessels dont have bulbous bows. I understand the purpose for them on large ships is to reduce drag made by bow wave formation by creation of a disruption wave. Wouldnt you want that in a sailing vessel to increase efficiency?

Anchorages in NYC?
We’re coming down the Hudson and should be in NYC by tomorrow afternoon. It looks like 79th street is a no go. It looks like anchoring at the Statue of Liberty might be our only free option. We are willing to take a slip but it’s looking $$$$. Anyone have any hot tips for NYC for a few days? We will leave Tuesday morning for Cape May.

How much to "get rid" of a sailboat?
I have heard around my marina of a 48 foot sailboat that an owner is trying to give away as it will never be worth the money to repair (and, I suspect, it is costing him a small fortune to keep on the hard). Were I to take it to salvage items off of it, how much would it cost to have the hull, etc., completely removed to where boat go to die when I was done? Chesapeake Bay area. Thanks for any insights and estimates!

How would you add an outboard to a stern that looks like this? I bought this sailboat for $1 and need to transport it. There's an inboard but I'm not counting on it to work so my goal is to add a 9.9hp outboard.
