February & March were particularly difficult months. Then, the body-shaming comments began.
Instead of cowering or becoming despairing, I decided to take positive action.
On April 4th, I began my journey at 217.1 pounds.
Today, I weigh 189.2.
In 2 & 1/2 months, I’ve lost 27 pounds.
(Also, I did it the right way: a calorie deficit & exercise.)
Now, I’m training to hike part of the Appalachian Trail & to walk across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
To everyone that shamed me, thank you. I would have never been this committed to my health & proving you wrong if you had not just kept your comments to yourself.
I’m stronger, healthier, & happier.

While ultimately — dialogue is good — we seem to only be presented with extremes.
After the failed experiment in Iraq, Americans are expectedly tired of endless wars. Many are hitting the panic button.
At the same time, those that are questioning President Trump are being called anti-MAGA.
The anti-war crowd is a major coalition that helped to re-elect President Trump.
What we can all agree upon is that it’s okay to have thoughtful critique of President Trump’s administration to ensure that we don’t make mistakes that he railed against,
but we must also agree that President Trump’s past actions — & his dedication to ending wars — must be a part of the equation in assessing his approach to 2025 & beyond.
Personally, I believe that President Trump is staying true to his comments about making sure Iran never is capable of a nuclear weapon; he didn’t want to make the mistake of drawing a red line in the sand with empty promises; & he is fighting for peace.
