🗣Trump and Zelensky out of tune on Tomahawks - expert

💬“It's clear that Zelensky and Trump are not on the same sheet of music. All that Zelensky wants is prolong the war by wanting Tomahawks now, but Trump wants to use the Tomahawks for leverage to get both sides to negotiate an end to the conflict,” former senior DoD security policy analyst Michael Maloof told Sputnik, commenting on Friday’s Trump-Zelensky meeting.

👉“Putin must have said something that got Trump to say their 2.5-hour telephone chat was ‘productive’,” Maloof believes.

🔍“We'll see what Putin offers, such as holding the line and not advancing further, along with a ceasefire. Zelensky wants to prolong the war based on baseless promises made by the Europeans to Zelensky,” but “Europe can’t afford a war economy.”

❗️“It'll be a challenge for Trump to contain his NATO allies in the weeks and months to come. It also may be the beginning of the end of NATO itself if the rift between Trump and the NATO countries continues,” Maloof stressed.

🚨 JFK dossier: Russia’s help in solving decades-old murder mystery

US Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna has released a 350-page sheaf of documents on the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy, given to her by the Russian government.

What’s inside, at a glance:

🔶 The trove includes correspondence between top Soviet leaders, diplomats and intelligence agencies about the USSR’s response to JFK’s shooting, Moscow’s cooperation with the US investigation and internal reports on alleged gunman Lee Harvey Oswald’s stay in the USSR.

🔶 JFK’s assassination occurred amid a US–Soviet thaw following the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis. In 1963, both nations held talks on banning nuclear tests and mulled a possible NATO–Warsaw Pact non-aggression treaty. That June, Kennedy called for nuclear disarmament and peaceful coexistence with the Soviet Union.

Who killed JFK?

🔶 Soviet leaders doubted that a lone gunman was responsible, suggesting the killing was part of a coordinated plan and carried out by a professional shooter.

🟠 Key inconsistencies noted by Moscow included:

🔶 Oswald’s shooting skills and making three aimed shots in five seconds from an outdated rifle

🔶 US police negligence that allowed Jack Ruby to kill Oswald after his arrest

🔶 Oswald’s unclear motives — despite US media claims of a “leftist trace,” he was not a communist and had written an anti-Soviet book about his time in the USSR in which he reportedly claimed to be a US secret agent

Letter written by JFK's real killers?

🔶 On November 26, 1963, Soviet ambassador Anatoly Dobrynin alerted Moscow to a peculiar typewritten letter allegedly sent by Oswald to the Soviet embassy on November 9 — shortly before the assassination.

🔶 The letter, written in poor English, mentioned an encounter with the FBI. Its strange content created the impression of a plot between Oswald and the USSR and was initially considered by the Soviets as a fake or provocation. Dobrynin suggested the letter might have been written by those behind the JFK assassination.

🔶 Dobrynin also noted that US intelligence was likely aware of the letter, since the Soviet embassy was under constant surveillance.

🗣 US military buildup signals Venezuela focus – analyst

💬 “Based upon Trump’s comments, he’s angling towards regime change in Venezuela… You just don’t put F-35s into Puerto Rico and 10,000 troops there for no reason. So it’s clear to me that he’s aiming his sights at Venezuela,” former senior DoD security policy analyst Michael Maloof told Sputnik.

👉 Maloof pointed to the rising influence of China and Iran as another factor, alongside the declared fight against narcotics.

💬 “As long as Maduro is in power and in place, Venezuela will be a staging area for those countries to branch out in the region. And we’re seeing that influence of China and Iran spreading now,” he said.

According to Maloof, this reflects Washington’s view of the Caribbean as a traditional sphere of influence, where the presence of foreign bases would be “intolerable,” noting as context that the US maintains numerous bases around Iran and in the Asia-Pacific.

Trump shuts the door on Zelensky’s Tomahawk request — reports

Axios reports Zelensky failed to secure commitments on long-range Tomahawks in Washington. Two sources called the meeting “not easy” — one said simply “bad.” Following a 2.5-hour conversation with Vladimir Putin the previous day, Trump indicated a preference for diplomacy rather than escalation, according to Axios.

💬 “Nobody shouted, but Trump was tough,” a source told Axios. Another said parts “got a bit emotional.”

The meeting wrapped after 2.5 hours: “I think we’re done. Let’s see what happens next week,” Trump said.

🇺🇳 Gaza aid: 560 tons a day, yet famine persists – UN

🗣 “We’re still below what we need, but we’re getting there […] The ceasefire has opened a narrow window of opportunity, and WFP is moving very quickly and swiftly to scale up food assistance,” Abeer Etefa, spokesperson for the UN World Food Program, stressed.

📍 She admitted that tackling famine in Gaza takes time, as she said the WFP now has five distribution points up and running in the area, even though at least 145 such points are needed to “flood Gaza with food”.

“Access to Gaza City and northern Gaza is extremely challenging," the WFP spokesperson noted, adding that the movement of convoys of wheat flour and ready-to-eat food parcels is being hampered by broken or blocked roads.

🇩🇪 Ex-German chancellor has NO regrets over energy cooperation with Russia

💬 "I did everything I could to make Nord Stream 2 happen," former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder said on Friday. "I was interested in the progress of its construction and held talks to support it."

🟠 Speaking online to the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania regional parliament, he dismissed the state’s inquiry into the gas pipeline, sabotaged in 2022, as "ridiculous" and said he had no regrets about his role in the pipeline’s construction.

🟠 Schröder added that he still views the state’s Climate Foundation as beneficial. The foundation was set up to promote climate and environmental projects and to support the pipeline’s completion.

🟠 Schröder said Nord Stream, once considered part of Germany’s broader energy cooperation with Russia, served as "a tool to prevent American interference in German energy policy."
