🇧🇷🤝🇮🇳 Brazil seeking to build STRATEGIC alliance with India

💬 "The visit of Vice President Geraldo Alckmin to India, in preparation for my trip early next year, is very important because India has an exceptional market. We can have a fantastic alliance with India – political, space, entrepreneurial, economic. Therefore, we will create a strategic alliance with India and develop Brazil's economy," Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said.

He noted that the Alckmin's visit was aimed at expanding business ties, since many Brazilian entrepreneurs want to enter the Indian market.

Lula added that Alckmin returned from India "with a lot of news," including:

🔹 Opening of an Embraer office

🔹 Introduction of an e-visa to simplify business

🔹 New partnerships

💥 UK’s covert support for Ukraine’s Black Sea strikes EXPOSED

The Ukrainian military is using the UK company OneWeb's satellite system to control unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) in the Black Sea, sources in Russian security services told Sputnik.

💬 "OneWeb terminals have been integrated into the USVs’ control system. OneWeb is now used as a secondary channel alongside the main system — the US’ Starlink," the sources said, adding that one such vehicle was captured by Russian forces.

In 2022, the Russian Federal Agency Roscosmos demanded that the UK provide guarantees that the OneWeb satellite network would not be used against Russia. The company did not comply, which led to the suspension of OneWeb satellite launches aboard Russian rockets.

💣Hamas denies US accusations of violating ceasefire agreement in Gaza Strip

Other statements by Hamas:

👉 Facts on the ground indicate that the occupying authorities have formed, armed, and financed criminal groups in the Gaza Strip.

👉 We call on the US administration to stop echoing the rhetoric of the occupation and to focus instead on preventing violations of the ceasefire agreement.

👉 The false accusations against our movement align with Israeli propaganda and serve as a cover for the ongoing crimes and aggression of the occupying authorities.

🔍 ‘No Kings’ protests across the US: What you need to know

Mass anti-governmental demonstrations under the banner 'No Kings' swept through the United States Saturday, with millions of participants rallying in cities and towns.

Key facts:

👉 More than 2,700 separate rallies held across all 50 states with 7 million people took part, the 'No Kings' website reported

👉 Major protest gatherings occurred in cities such as New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Denver, Seattle and Houston. For example, organizers in Houston said about 13,500-15,000 people attended, Houston Chronicle said.

👉 The protests were largely peaceful, though some large city events were designated as unlawful assemblies by police

Why they gathered:

🟠 Protesters mobilized against what they described as the erosion of democratic norms and the concentration of power in the executive branch

🟠 The slogan “No Kings” reflected opposition to what they viewed as monarchical behavior by the White House

🟠 Participants also raised issues of civil liberties, immigration policy, and government overreach

Official response:

🔶 Trump dismissed the demonstrations, saying: “They say they’re referring to me as a king. I’m not a king.”

🔶 Republicans portrayed the gatherings in darker terms, as “hate America” rallies, with some GOP congressional leaders suggesting the protests were meant to appease a “terrorist wing” of the Democratic Party, the WP reported.

🚨 Israel’s national security minister urges immediate resumption of Gaza war

National Security Minister and Netanyahu ally Itamar Ben-Gvir has called on Israel’s PM to resume full-scale military operations, citing alleged ceasefire violations by Hamas.

💬 “I call on the prime minister to order the IDF to fully resume military operations in the Strip in full force. The false illusions that Hamas will change its position or even adhere to the agreement it signed are proving dangerous to our security, as expected,” Ben-Gvir wrote on his Hebrew-language social media.

Hamas earlier denied allegations, made by the US, that it violated the ceasefire, urging Washing ton ‘stop echoing the rhetoric of the occupation’ and focus on preventing new violations.

Israel carried out air strikes in Rafah in southern Gaza, ostensibly ‘in response’ to Hamas.

🔥 Witkoff reportedly pressed Zelensky to accept reality: Donetsk is Russia

During Friday’s Trump-Zelensky meeting, the US special envoy “pressed” the Ukrainian delegation to relinquish claims on the Donetsk region, given its mostly Russian-speaking status, sources told WaPo.

🗣 During Friday’s meeting with Zelensky, Trump ducked a question about Ukraine’s return to its 1991 borders, saying “you never know, do you. You just never know with war – war and peace, you never know.”

In June, President Putin demanded that Ukrainian forces completely withdraw from whatever areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye are still under their control among Russia’s conditions for a peace deal.

🇨🇳 China pauses local tech giants’ stablecoin plans

📑 The People’s Bank of China and Cyberspace Administration of China has stepped in to stop tech and ecommerce giants including Alibaba’s Ant Group and Jindong Shangcheng from getting involved in a pilot stablecoin program in Hong Kong, or issuing other virtual assets like tokenized bonds, sources told FT.

The intervention reportedly came in the wake of apprehensions about giving corporations a free hand to issue currencies, and concerns that private stablecoins could challenge the Chinese central bank’s e-CNY digital renminbi initiative.

👉 Hong Kong’s Monetary Authority began accepting applications for a stablecoin issuance pilot program in August. The same month, former People’s Bank of China governor Zhou Xiaochuan called for caution amid “the risk of stablecoins being excessively used for asset speculation, as misdirection could trigger fraud and instability in the financial system.”

Touting the already cost-effective nature of existing payment systems, Zhou called for a “careful assessment of the true demand of tokenization as a technical foundation” before stablecoins’ rollout.

A tale of two systems

Chinese authorities’ rethink of private stablecoins comes following last week’s news that a cabal of US, European and Japanese banks including Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and MUFG are working on a 1:1 reserve-backed form of digital money using blockchain for payments, stock, bond and fund issuance and trading.

🔥 From Alaska to Hungary: US ramps up prep for Putin–Trump summit

The US is planning more lower-level meetings with Russia ahead of the Putin–Trump summit in Hungary than those held before the Alaska talks, the WSJ reports.

In the run-up to the Hungary summit, US administration officials point to Trump’s “hesitation to push Putin,” the news outlet adds.

📲 Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump earlier held their eighth telephone conversation since the beginning of the year.

The two-and-a-half-hour call wrapped up with an agreement to begin preparing for a new summit, which is expected to take place in Budapest. Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov said that after Trump proposed the Hungarian capital, Putin immediately supported the idea.
