There are many important Vaisnava pilgrimage sites spread all over India. The propensity for travel and tourism is properly utilized by visiting such holy places. However, the scriptures advise us that the main benefit to be derived from such pilgrimages is to associate with and hear from saintly persons residing in the holy places. Unfortunately, in the modern age, the importance of pilgrimage sites as places of spiritual instruction has been almost forgotten. Gaudiya Vaisnavas know Mayapura and Vrindavan (which from the external viewpoint appear to situated close to Calcutta and Delhi, respectively) as the two most important places in the whole universe, as they are the places of appearance and pastimes of Lord Caitanya and Lord Krsna.

Instead of contemplating what will happen to this world, you have got a short duration of life, say fifty, sixty years. You chant Hare Kṛṣṇa and go back to home, back to Godhead. Don't consider what will happen to this world. The nature will take care of it. You don't puzzle your brain with these thoughts. You utilize whatever time you have got in your possession and go back to home, back to Godhead. You cannot check it. Because people will go on with their rascal civilization, natural consequences will be there. You better take advantage of whatever time you have got and become fully Kṛṣṇa conscious and go back to home."

Prabhupada, 53 years ago "If Krishna does not supply you this light, sunlight, you will die. But He does not charge anything. But because you are human being, you should try to repay: "Oh, Krishna is giving us so much facilities. Let me render some service unto Him." This is Krishna consciousness. This is to acknowledge, "O God, You are so kind. You are giving so many things. So I have collected this fruit. It is Your fruit, I know. Still, please accept."

The unhulled rice and the empty husks of rice look very much the same. One who knows how to get the grain out of the unhulled rice is wise, but one who beats on the empty husk, thinking to get some result, is simply wasting his labor uselessly. Similarly, if one studies the Vedas without finding the goal of the Vedas, Krsna, he simply wastes his valuable time.

God's another name is ajita. A means "not," and jita means "conquered." Nobody can conquer God. That is God. God is never conquered by anyone. He conquers everyone. God is conquered by His devotee, not by the demons. The demons are conquered by God. But devotee can conquer. Ajito 'pi, jito 'pi. Although God is ajita, He becomes jita, means conquered, by His devotee.

Now Lord Caitanya has placed you in the western part of the world so that you can now combine together and broadcast the holy message all over the world. >>> Ref. Please don't take the association of devotees so cheaply. Association with devotees is a gift which is attained after many lifetimes. Even if we have the opportunity to avail of that gift, if we don't have the right attitude, we will not be able to take advantage of it.
