🇬🇧 The unfinished obelisk of Aswan (Egypt)
This aerial photograph clearly depicts the substantial dimensions of the unfinished obelisk located in Aswan, Egypt, and depicts its potential vertical appearance.
Carved approximately 3,500 years ago, the monumental obelisk spans a total length of 137 feet and has an estimated mass of 1,200 tons.
The project was ultimately left incomplete due to the occurrence of fractures in the stone.
The site serves as an astonishing example of the advanced engineering capabilities exhibited by the ancient Egyptian civilization.
The logistical aspects of transporting and constructing such a massive stone structure invite further investigation into the skills employed by these engineers.
