Ancient Britons over 4000 years ago made this gold cross.

Pagan Saxons 1500 years ago stamped their urns with the symbol.

Jesus was probably not crucified on a cross. It became a Christian symbol over 100 years after he died but remained a pagan symbol in Europe for centuries after that.

'Sagas of the Raven Land' is a history documentary in which historian Tom Rowsell journeys to Iceland, immersing himself in the landscapes that inspired the Icelandic sagas of the Viking Age. He rides native horses across the fells, bathes in hot springs, and traces the footsteps of legendary saga heroes like Eirik the Red and Egill Skallagrimsson.

This sword chape was also found in Thorsberg bog. Dating to c. 200 AD it bears one of the earliest runic inscriptions.

The side visible in my photograph reads "owlþuþewaz" and the runes on the reverse say "niwajemariz"

It is thought that the first o and w are reversed due to metathesis, so that it is actually a reference to the god wolþu (OE: Wuldor, ON: Ullr). Either invoking the god or a man with a theophoric name.

Therefore: "Wolthuthewaz is well-renowned," or "the servant of Wuldor, the renowned."

The moors of Denmark and North Germany preserve numerous Iron Age Germanic offerings. While bog bodies may be executed criminals (see Tacitus), and individual deposits of weapons and jewelry, hair and animals are thought to be offerings to the gods, other explanations are proposed for the deposits of vast numbers of bows, arrows, armour, swords, shields, horses and even boats.

One explanation is that because many Germanics from Scandinavia had to pass through this region in order to serve in the Roman army beyond the limes, therefore they raided en route and were sometimes killed by locals who offered the defeated forces to the bogs. Indeed many of the bog finds in Denmark are non-local.

The most important Germanic victim find in Germany is at Thorsberg bog. Offerings were sunk there for over 600 years. Most of the items are weapons and equipment from the beginning of the 3rd c. A.D. a time of heavy Roman influence on Germania.

Pictured are Thorsberg bog finds dated to 200's

My son saw a trident logo and asked me what it was and I said it was the weapon of the sea god (Neptune) but he interpreted this to mean Njord.

Then he went and made a trident out of hama beads and said "look, Daddy, it's Njord"

Interesting that he naturally took it to be symbol that represents the god himself rather than just his attribute. Then he made a mjolnir as well

interesting fact about the Toda: they are the closest population genetically to the pre-Aryan civilisation of the Indus Valley. They descend from IVC people who migrated south, probably to escape the Aryans.

They look different from other Dravidian speakers and have less Onge related ancestry than many other South Indians. Some Brits thought they were a lost tribe of Israel when they met them!

Toda refer to non-Toda Indians as "Indians" and are generally, and historically, pro-British

In my 2018 film Aryans to Empire I met Pete Raj, a man from the Dravidian Adivasi tribe known as the Toda who dwell in the beautiful Nilgiri hills. They were during the Raj, and still are pro-British and refer to the Indians as an other from themselves. He proved such a popular character that several memes circulated in response to the film including one of him wearing a skull mask and another in reference to the Buffalo worship of the Toda people.

The Toda religion is NOT Hinduism. This rather undermines the Hindutva claim that Hinduism has its roots in the IVC rather than the Aryan religion.

Toda do not worship Shiva or Krishna or Vishnu etc

They have three gods; Sun, moon and buffalo.

Only Toda men can enter a Toda temple where buffalo milk and ghee libations are poured. Even a Brahmin may not enter. No Sanskrit prayers are used. No Hindu texts are revered.
