Pressure Without Fire, Memory Without Flame

The machines that leave no soot behind are the ones history most quickly forgets. In 1964, Ian Fleming wrote Chitty Chitty Bang Bang —a bedtime story, if you read it wrong. Stripped of film and melody, what remains is not fantasy but blueprint: a dual-cylinder, air-driven car with no combustion, no spark, and no reason to serve the fossil order.

The sound—"chitty chitty bang bang"—wasn’t whimsy. It matched the rhythmic hiss and pop of real compressed-air engines used in 19th-century trams and mine carts. Fleming, once an intelligence officer, knew precisely what he was describing. Not a metaphor. A prototype.

This wasn’t a car that couldn't work. It was one that worked too well. Quiet, clean, mechanically regenerative. The kind of system that could survive anywhere—and be maintained by anyone. So instead of killing the idea, they dressed it as fiction. They gave it candy and songs. Because stories don’t threaten economies. But machines do.

С порталами раньше было всё хорошо)) Поэтому их ломали, грабили запчасти, сносили. Уничтожение артефактов шло волной с начала 20 века и идёт до сих пор!
