Rewatching season 2 TVD, Bonnie and Damon have a lot of chemistry

Now that I’m in my 20s I’m rewatching TVD and I never noticed the chemistry Bonnie and Damon had started so early on in the series.

Just rewatched 6x03 and had an interesting thought

Seeing Damon and Bonnie sit down to dinner that she made, he slapped a blood bag down on the table and Bonnie set down the bowl of whatever it was they were eating right next to it.

You know what occurred to me that no one pointed out? Damon never ONCE considered trying to feed on Bonnie. As the only source of warm human blood, it was never a thought that entered his head to even ask her for blood either. She didn't have her magic and he could have tried to compel her and that never happened either.

It just shows that Damon's obvious affinity for Bonnie was there LONG before season 6 and seeing him sitting down to share a meal with Bonnie with a blood bag as a side to the entree was kind of adorable in a really macabre way.

The real main character

Is there a set main character of the show? I vaguely remember reading somewhere that KW called Stelena the heart of the story. Would that make Stefan/Elena the main characters that the story follows?

Damon and Elena

First time we learn that Damon is in love with Elena is when Isobel makes things real awkward by dropping it in 1x21. But do we learn what it is he even likes about her?

I do think it was a bit rushed and poorly done considering that Damon spent half the season in love with Kath (1x14) and after that he only spent time with Elena bc circumstances (Stefan) forced them together, so I don’t find it plausible but it’s CW so I just let it slide.

I guess what I’m asking is: What is it about Elena specifically that has Damon head over heels?

I’m really just looking for perspective. I’ve seen some on Tumblr but still don’t find their romance plausible.

Was Elena and Bonnie’s friendship fated to happen or was it coincidence?

I’m curious about this because if it’s a coincidence that’s funny how she just was randomly friends with a powerful witch

I just finished Season 2 and 3, and wow...

Hi! So I made a post about the S1 ending a couple of weeks ago, and I just want to say Season 2 and 3 has been great! One of you commented that the best seasons were 2 and 3, and wow you're right! At first, I had a lot of reservations about it because the pattern with these shows is that the plot gets repetitive or the scenes just get too cheesy. But, I loved every second of it!

I think it was very fitting that Elena died the same way she was supposed to die, I liked that. And, I also liked how Elena's relationships with Bonnie and Caroline progressed, it felt real, the good and the bad. I still don't like Damon but not as much, I think Elena not choosing him is his karma. But, I also don't want Stefan with Elena now too, I just kind of want Elena to be single the next season if that is even possible.

And holy freak this show is so tragic, in the span of 2 seasons (they haven't even finished senior year yet) they have lost so much. Like the Gilbert's lost Jenna, Alaric, and John. Caroline lost her father, and possibly Tyler. Tyler lost his dad too (I say good riddance, but still a little sad for him), Mason, and possibly his life. Bonnie got cheated on by Jeremy, and finally found her mother only for her mom to run away again. I'm probably missing a lot more tragic things that happened but these were the most notable for me.

Lastly, what the hell is up with Caroline not getting a break! The circumstances she gets in, and the men that flock around her. It's like everything around her is out to get her. Turning into a vampire, her mom hating her, her boyfriend hating her, her father torturing her (it took 2 days for them to find her!), her falling in love with Tyler (it's just messy really), and Klaus starting to like her. The girl just cannot catch a break!

Anyways, this was more of a rant than a discussion post, so I apologize about the long post. I don't have anyone to share this to, so I figured I would share it here. Thanks for reading!

Anyone else think Season 6 is peak tvd?!

I’ve been a fan of the show for 12 years and during the run i’ve always been so mad at people saying it declined after season 3. Yes, 2-3 had a phenomenal story arc. But i feel like every season had it’s own theme and was written extremely well.

I feel like Season 6 is the best season because it had the same feeling of the older seasons yet they brought something new to the table. I looooved the prison world story and the introduction to Kai and the entire gemini coven. It’s such a comfort season for me.

Also when i started the show i jumped into season 4 so it has a special place in my heart.

I only dispise season 5b and season 8. Everything else is pure gold!

What’s yalls favorite season??
