Rant: Katherine is not a mean girl.
This is such a non issue, but I wanted to discuss how a majority of people, mainly individuals on TikTok, tend to label Katherine as a “mean girl.” This is far from the truth, the term “mean girl” has lost its meaning. I believe the words cruel or callous suits her far better. Sure, she can be mean, but does that automatically make her a “mean girl”? Nope. Katherine went through something traumatic at a young age and was forced into survival mode. As a result, this ended in her inner self becoming hardened, she had to rewire everything in order to survive. Trauma leads you to create survival mechanisms, there is a difference between being traumatized and a straight up mean girl. Keep in mind, the universe she lives in is far from typical, maybe if this took place in our reality we could send that girl to a therapist and call it a day—but survival is everything in that universe.
I just don’t understand how people think she is a “mean girl”? Mean girls are usually high school students, not five hundred+ year old supernatural beings. I wonder if people would still call her a “mean girl” if she aged the same way humans did..

I'm on my 5th rewatch and Elijah...
GODDDDD help me. Just watched the scene where Elena stabs herself and "GIVE ME YOUR WORD", and Elijah LICKS HIS LIPS AND SAYS: "i give you my word." MY NIPSSSS REACTEEEDDDDD.
No but on a more serious note, 5th rewatch and i'm noticing new things and forming new opinions on different characters. I oddly enough like Katherine more this time around, Elena i like less with every rewatch, Stefan is just a good guy, Damon is just a bad guy, Matt isn't actually that bad lol, Tyler is so far the most annoying out of everyone and Caroline n Bonnie are just trying to live, lol.
I mean more thoughts to come but i love this show and i love Elijah and i get all uwu when it comes to him lol excuse me

This might be a hot take, but I consider Stefan, Damon, and Klaus to not only be good people, but they are heroes in my eyes.

I love Elena, but she needed to choose
Don't get me wrong, I love Elena's character, however, she was so annoying when she was choosing between Damon and Stefan. And not to mention even after she chose Damon in s4, she was still stuck on Stefan and would egg him on. In late s4 and s5, she would act all entitled like she still deserved Stefan's love. Like, anytime he would talk to a girl she would get jealous and think that he was doing it just to "get back at her" or make her jealous. I was just really confused the whole time she was choosing, because it felt like she was just leading them on. I mean, I understand that Stefan lost her by doing HORRIBLE things and that's why she developed feelings for Damon, but she could've made up her mind and spared both of their hearts.
