Would a vampire police officer with a warrant be able to enter a private residence, or would the magic still block them?
In the Vampire diaries/originals/legacies vampires cat enter a house unless ivited in by a living resident.
in The Originals (Season 2, Episode 5, "Red Door") where Elijah has a house declared a historical landmark, effectively making it public property so he can walk in — without needing an invitation.
That was a legal workaround, not brute force.
My hunch is that magic doesn’t care about human law, but I’d love to hear your thoughts

I love The Vampire Diaries
But as someone who was reading Anne Rice in the 80s, I gotta say it's weird seeing ancient vampires act the way they do in TVD. At least Louie, Lestat, and Armand act their age. The one and only vampire I see in TVD acting like they're actually their age is Elijah. (Although if I was a 400-year-old vampire, I could see myself being like Lexi, but I certainly wouldn't be creepily macking on teenage girls like Elena or Davina Claire.)

The vampire diaries has always been a campy drama show for teens, so i can accept when silly, stupid or flat out unbelievable things happen. However, something which has really bothered me since forever: characters inexplicably being able to speak perfect English. I feel like the writers got really lazy and by the time the originals showed up, they gave up on even trying to have any consistency. Like when Katherine first appears in flashbacks to when she was human she is speaking Bulgarian, which makes sense. Then she flees to England and learns English and speaks with an English accent. Granted it's not "historical" English, but it works none the less. However, when the originals show up, in the flashbacks to the Nordic travellers in the Americas, they totally give up on them speaking in an authentic tongue. Like when Kol wakes up after 800 years they can somehow speak perfect English and it's like, bro what? I think it would actually be funny or interesting to show them having no idea what's going on and having to learn how to adjust to the times, like the tomb vampires did in season 2. Like they are immortal beings and as time goes on this is acknowledged less and less. Same goes for Silas. Like bro has been sleeping beneath the earth for 3000 years and is from Greece or whatever and he wakes up speaking perfect American English... please be serious it is so stupid and it breaks my immersion. Beyond that, they are Vampires and immortals, I want to feel like that's what they are, and when there are no anachronisms, it really takes away some of the spice of the genre🤌

Ambrose: totally underrated character
In case anyone doesn't remember: he's the serial killer who takes over Stefan's body after Nora and Mary-Louise release the vamps from the Phoenix stone.
Ambrose seems to have a real hatred for rich, pampered, spoiled, and privileged people, and relishes killing them in creative and monstrous ways.
My kind of guy.

Do the Original vampires need to wear daylight rings?
I know when the story of their creation (I think Rebekah is telling Elena it) is being told, it is mentioned that Esther crafted daylight rings for them because the sun burned them. But they can't be killed. So what happens if they take off a daylight ring when the sun is out? They just walk around on fire but unable to die?

What's the reason ppl hate matt?
I currently started s5 and i like matt a lot. He is always so nice and helpful to everyone. It's not that he is ugly either definitely less hotter than the others but he is still fine. In s1 he lost his sister so I would say his behaviors was pretty justified.

Is anyone else an older fan like me?
I'm 52 and first started watching the series around 2012-13ish, so I think I watched the first 3 seasons right away and then had to wait for each of the next one's to come out. So I was just about 40 years old when I started. My laughed at me, especially when I watched it all for the 3rd time through. Is anyone else an older fan?

Klaus and Katherine
I don‘t get why Klaus killed off Katherines entire family. That was so stupid of him, he ended the Petrova line (or at least he thought so, bc I don‘t think he knew about Katherine‘s baby) and hence destroyed any chance of a new doppelgänger. Was that out of pure anger?
