Mystic Falls with no magic
I’m rewatching TVD and I’m on season 6, where the Travelers raised the anti-magic spell in Mystic Falls. When “Sara” is compelled by Caroline and then crosses the border, the compulsion is canceled and she remembers everything… so in that case, wouldn’t all the residents remember every single time they were compelled?
I know it would completely change the plot, but I can’t help noticing all the errors and plot holes in the show.

I just finished season 1 of The Vampire Diaries. This is my over all thoughts and opinions along with my character rankings
Iv always loved reading these when other people make them for shows i love so i could discuss about it in the comments so i thought id make one for tvd.
Feel free to laugh at me in your heads if my favorite characters die.
First my thoughts.
Really good show, i love it especially because its not afraid to kill characters, its why i like attack on titan so much. Shows these days are always afraid to kill there characters, and even if they dont they only kill side characters, or they just send them away. I hate this because it removes literally all stakes and you know the good guys will win.
This brings me to my next point, tvd is not afraid to let the bad guys win, ie the season finale, i wouldn't say elanas group won, after all, anna died (rip bestie), Jeremy fucking despises elana, damon almost died, carolines probably about to fucking explode or something and what ever the hell is going on with tyler and his pops.
Also another reason but definitely not the last is its got really good villains, each villain is good at making you despise them which im sure you'll see in my character rankings.
Next my character rankings. First il do my most hated characters (1 being most hated.)
4. Isobel, she is just awful, fucking despise her, not to mention her sexually abusing two people, but like gosh, she just gives me the creeps,
3. Tyler (former) obligatory, i do not hate him (as much) anymore, i despised him at the beginning cause he was just rude lol, he is slowly redeeming himself tho, i surprisingly dont care for the incident between him and matts mom tho. I feel like he was more of a victim there tbh.
2. Speaking of matts mom, thats my second most hated characters, she is just a awful person lol.
1. JOHN FUCKING GILBERT. When i tell you i despise this man i mean it, aaaa he pisses me off, when Katherine killed his ass at the end of season one i was quite literally jumping for joy. you know that one reaction meme of Moist Critical just being exited, yeah thats me. Idk why but literally every time his stinking ass pops up on screen i have to try and not die of cringe, He is so strange and i just hate him. god i hope he dies from that stab wound.
Now on to my most beloved characters, again one is the best.
5. Steffan. Eh, he is kinda mid, he only got his spot cause he is like the only fucking character in this show who treats elana with some form of respect lol.
4. Bonny. she is so fun. idk what to say i just like witches.
3. caroline, again. she is so fun. i love her personality and i think candice king did an awesome job at portraying her. i really hope she survives the car crash. if she dies im blaming tyler even though its just objectively not his fault.
2. what can i say i love sassy characters there so fun. also damons character arc is definitely something i enjoy.
1. Annabell. MY ABSOLUTE GOAT. this character is so peak and i love her so much. her romance and character arc with jeremy is also so peak god i love it. her death genuinely made me contemplate dropping the show (i will continue, but it wont be the same without you queen).
anyway thats all. il probably be back in a few weeks when i finish season two, until then. have fun laughing at me. ima go back to watching peak!

Why is the Theme of Family and Friendship so toxic and phony?
The romance has been talked to death so I'm focusing on the non-romance relationships of the show, instead.
Family and Friendship is also suppose to be a big theme for TVD yet it's not believable. You have people in the show that have done things to each other than would normally end friendships for good or have strained and estranged families yet we're suppose to believe that no matter what they do to each other, they love each other through thick and thin and still do anything for them, including die for them, which they do.
It's also another reason why I can't jump on the Elena, Bonnie and Caroline friendship, knowing how much they all hurt each other over the course of the show. I probably be more on board seeing how more of their friendship was prior to the Salvatores coming to town.
Discuss.

Rebekah and the cure?
So, Rebekah was next in line to receive the cure, would that make her back into a witch once she was mortal again? Cause her mom was a witch and all?

So frustrating how the Gilbert house keeps on inviting people in!
So I just started watching TVD in my 30s, almost done w Season 3, trying to catch up on all the famous shows from the 2010s. I honestly forgot how chaotic TV back then was, the over-dramatized moments, the unnecessary complications that could’ve been solved in two minutes… but it’s still a fun little pastime. 😅
Just so frustrated w the Gilbert house. Like… why do these people keep inviting EVERYONE in? They could also tell Jenna not to invite people they don’t know or like compel her. And with all the life/death situations happening every five minutes, they still don’t lock their doors or close their windows. They are literally almost dying daily. How many times Damon or some vampire say “your door is unlocked/ window is open”. Or some antagonist freely go in and out the unlock doors. They really never learn. 🤦🤦♀️🤦♂️

Why do these people never learn from their mistakes, lol?
I’m doing a rewatch and it’s wild how many times someone says “we won’t let this happen again” and then it happens again.
Still love the show though. Just had to laugh at how chaotic everyone is.

What if tvd had an infernal devices ending? (SPOILER FOR THE ENDING OF THE BOOK SERIES infernal devices - you've been warned !)
So there is a book series called infernal devices which is wildly praised for being the best solution of a love triangle and is also considered by many as being the "best lover triangle" that's been written.
In the book series the female character is an immortal warlock (who can have children even though other warlock cannot) and the 2 love interests are will (a character similar to damon even looks wise but he has a reason why hes being an ass to everyone but jem) and jem (a sweet character similar to stefan). Both are mortal.
These books resolve the triangle like this: tessa gets with both. Jem "dies" by becoming a supernatural creature that can't have human feeling who live for a looooong time so he doesn't actually die.
Tessa marries will has kids with him and a whole life until he dies. Tessa then leaves and does whatever she does to cope and live her immortal live until one day jem is cured and they get together and marry and have a kid.
What if tvd was similar to that like: elena drinks the cure but becomes human but somehow gets immortal (like as a punishment she gets cursed by kai her beauty sleep was somehow a immorality curse or whatever ... just think of a storyline where she becomes immoral)
Stefan in this story remains a vamp
After a few years bonnie wakes her up she gets with Damon they live happily ever after. Have kids and a whole life and he dies somehow (the cure could work on him idk again think of a better way this could work out in the show)
And at the end its her and Stefan that remain they get together life happily
And the last scene of the show is her and stefan rejoining Damon in the afterlife after they found a cure for her immorality (and stefan somehow also becomes human)
Sorry if the suggested plot doesn't make much sense but this way theres no need for all those stelena delena b - fights all the time she gets with both and 95% of the whole fandom would be happy "their ship" was endgame
So what do you think ?

I grew up in New England, and I still have never seen a town more obsessed with their founding families.
If I were any other family in that town, I would have moved a long time ago.Literally a small handful of families, with two being the most important, have festivals, parties, galas, all dedicated to them. And everyone else is just supposed to come out every week and honor them at the next event? By year too, I'd be too sick of it to stay.

Is teen wolf any good?
I watched vd for the first time like a year ago and fell in love, then ripped through the originals and true blood. I'm a longtime supernatural fan and am craving another supernatural show. So - as the title asks, is teen wolf worth a watch?

Rewatching Season 5 and I'm convinced Elena has the wildest plot armor in the entire show
Ok so I'm doing a full rewatch and hit Season 5 again, and honestly... how did Elena survive ANY of this? I'm not even talking about vampire speed, healing or whatever. I'm talking about the sheer number of times the universe just conveniently bent itself so she could exist for one more episode. Like one minute she's being hunted by ancient immortal beings with centuries of experience and the next minute someone slips on a rug or misses a shot by an inch because a window suddenly decides to blow open. Girl isn't just protected by magic. She's protected by pure cosmic luck. And the funniest part is that sometimes the characters even comment on how "dangerous" the situation is while Elena is standing there completely uncovered, in plain sight, with about three villains actively trying to kill her. And somehow they're like "Elena stay behind me!" as if that ever works. At this point I'm convinced Bonnie has secretly been casting passive save-Elena spells off screen because what other explanation is there? What's your all time favorite moment of Elena plot armor kicking in? I know y'all have at least three.

Which season feels the most rewatchable to you?
I bounce between 2 and 3 depending on my mood. Some storylines hit harder than others, and some seasons just flow better. Curious what everyone else goes back to the most.
