Official report shows abortions fell 99% in Texas after Roe reversal
The most recent data from August 2022 shows only 3 abortions were conducted in the entire state, and each of those were the result of medical emergencies.
This is a drastic change from 68 abortions in July and 2,596 in June 2022.
In the months following the overturning of Roe v Wade, Texas upheld and successfully defended its Heartbeat law against Federal challenges. The law makes all abortions after a heartbeat is detected illegal, except in the case of a medical emergency where medical professionals do all they can to save the baby.
Meanwhile in California there were nearly 166,000 abortions in 2022.
