☎️ Tele MANAS:

• Tele Mental Health Assistance and Networking Across States or Tele MANAS, which was started in 2022, seeks to function as a comprehensive, integrated, and inclusive 24x7 tele-mental health facility.

• Currently, Tele MANAS services are available across 34 States/Union TerAnalysis of Tele MANAS users shows that most of the callers on the helpline are male (56.15%) and aged 18 to 45 years (71.5%).
🚢 Exercise MALABAR 2024:

• Exercise MALABAR 2024 hosted by India concluded on 18 October 24 at Visakhapatnam.

• The MALABAR Exercise is a multilateral naval exercise involving India, the United States, Japan, and Australia.

• The exercise aims to promote interoperability, cooperation, and mutual understanding among participating nations.

• Initially launched as a bilateral naval drill along India’s Malabar Coast between the US and India in 1992, the exercise has since expanded to include Australia and Japan.
Vijaya Kishore Rahatkar appointed new NCW chairperson:

• Vijaya Kishore Rahatkar has been appointed the ninth chairperson of the National Commission for Women (NCW).

• The appointment made under Section 3 of the National Commission for Women Act, 1990, will be for a period of three years or until she reaches the age of 65, whichever comes first.

• The National Commission for Women (NCW) is a statutory body of the Government of India that advises the government on policy matters affecting Women.

• The NCW was established in January 1992 under the National Commission for Women Act, 1990.

1) The Living Planet report 2024 was released by World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

2) In a first-of-its-kind initiative T.N. Police implement online appraisal-processing system:

• The Tamil Nadu police have implemented the SPARROW (Smart Performance Appraisal Report Recording Online Window) application to process the Annual Confidential Report (ACR) and the Annual Performance Appraisal Report (APAR) of its officers online.

• These reports play a pivotal role in administration related processes such as promotions, deputations, nominations for medals or awards, transfers, and postings.

3) Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005.

4) Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve - Tamil Nadu.

5) Koya tribes:

• The Koya tribe is found in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha.

• They speak the Koya language, also known as Koya basha, which is a Dravidian language related to Gondi. Most Koyas also speak either Gondi or Telugu.

6) Gussadi dance:

• Renowned Gussadi dance master and Padma Shri recipient Kanaka Raju passed away.

• Gussadi, the famous folk dance of Telangana.

7) $25-mn pandemic fund goes to curb 'zoonotic' diseases:

• The Centre has launched a project to improve animal health security in partnership with the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank and the Food and Agriculture Organization.

• It is designed to enhance the country's "animal health security" by upgrading and expanding animal health laboratories and developing laboratory networks. This will help curb zoonotic diseases.

• India scored low (42.8) on the Global Health Security Index with a high level of environmental risks and public health vulnerabilities.

• A zoonosis (zoonotic disease or zoonoses -plural) is an infectious disease that is transmitted between species from animals to humans (or from humans to animals) such as rabies, anthrax, influenza (H1N1 and H5N1), Nipah, COVID-19, brucellosis, and tuberculosis. These diseases are caused by various pathogens, including bacteria, viruses, parasites, and fungi.

Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY):

• Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) was launched on 23rd September 2018 in Ranchi, Jharkhand by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi.

• PM-JAY is the world’s largest health insurance/ assurance scheme fully financed by the government.

• It provides a cover of Rs. 5 lakhs per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization across public and private empanelled hospitals in India.

• Recently, the Union government has extended the benefits of the AB PM-JAY to all senior citizens above the age of 70.

• With the expansion now, every elderly person above 70 years of age in the country will get free treatment in the hospital with the "Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card" irrespective of their income.

• Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme (jointly funded by the Centre and states).

• The Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) scheme comes under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission:

• It was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 27, 2021.

• Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) aims to establish a robust digital health ecosystem through active collaboration between public and private sectors.

• The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), formerly known as the National Digital Health Mission, aims to support universal health coverage in an efficient, accessible, inclusive, affordable, timely, and safe manner.

• ABDM is designed to create longitudinal electronic health records for citizens, enhancing healthcare accessibility, reducing care costs, and improving efficiency in health service delivery.

Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHA):

• Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHA), a key part of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), is designed to support India's integrated digital health infrastructure.

• It provides a 14-digit unique number that simplifies the digital access and sharing of health records.
