Facebook is announcing the launch of new Accelerator programs!

The Facebook Accelerator program helps startups with a product in market to scale effectively through immersive and locally-tailored training, mentorship, and access to a global network of startup peers. Today, we are opening applications for two new programs customized for startups building in areas of connectivity or commerce.

Facebook Accelerator: Connectivity, is for startups in the Americas that are focused on improving connectivity through technologies, solutions, and new models that address the availability and affordability of internet access.

Facebook Accelerator: Commerce, is for startups in Latin America, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East building on commerce platforms, innovating solutions around catalog functionality, and enhancing the overall commerce experience through conversational tools and immersive shopping experiences.

Ever wondered why you dream? Neuroscientists think that human brains can suffer from overfitting, just like your models. Researchers say we dream to introduce 'noise' or bad data into our models of reality, which keeps us from making bad mental predictions.

Or as they put it: "The purpose of dreaming is to provide 'out-of-distribution' simulations specifically to prevent overfitting and improve generalisation.”
