⚪️ White Lives Matter Activists have been submitting anonymous activism from around Nanaimo, British Columbia.

What would have become of Hercules do you think if there had been no lion, hydra, stag or boar - and no savage criminals to rid the world of? What would he have done in the absence of such challenges?

Obviously he would have just rolled over in bed and gone back to sleep. So by snoring his life away in luxury and comfort he never would have developed into the mighty Hercules.

And even if he had, what good would it have done him? What would have been the use of those arms, that physique, and that noble soul, without crises or conditions to stir into him action?

📌 In the first chapter of Homer's Odyssey, Odysseus sets sail for his home in Ithaca after being away for ten years participating in what would later become known as the Trojan War. It isn't long before his twelve ships and battle-exhausted men are set upon by gale force winds and an unrelenting crash of waves for nine days, the storm they endure results in them landing on a small island bordering the Mediterranean Sea. It is here where Eurylochus takes twenty men inland to search for food an water, while the others inspect the ships and have a much needed rest after surviving a weeks worth of treacherous weather.

In the morning seeing Eurylochus had not returned, Odysseus gathers fifty men to take inland to search for his lost friends. Quickly upon setting off into the forest, they are bewildered by everything the island has to offer, Polites is quoted in saying 'What danger could there be in a place like this?' Sure enough it wasn't long before they ran into that danger, as it had grasped the minds of Eurylochus' men in a small village not too far from where their ships had landed. Here Odysseus and his men have to rescue the first search party by separating them from the locals, who were catering to all their worldly desires and feeding them lotus fruit.

This short paraphrasing of The Odyssey's opening chapter has a lot to offer in terms of parallels, where today our contemporary's minds are ensnared in a similar plot where amnesia has taken root. After allowing themselves to become soft and lazy, they do not possess the necessary awareness to identify friend from foe, and much of the modernist landscape is designed in such a way that they never find their way out of that labyrinth, at least not alone. It is our duty to vanquish the mind virus which has infected their souls an better judgement, and rightfully we must remind them of their children and wives at home whom depend on the sanctity of their minds. Thus we are compelled to act, like Odysseus.
