🇵🇭 Protests have broken out in Manila, the capital of the Philippines
More than 80,000 people — mostly students and activists — accused authorities of stealing funds ear-marked for flood relief.
The money vanished, while disaster damage remains unaddressed.
Around 60 police officers were injured, and at least 20 people were arrested.
According to The Guardian, as much as $17.6 billion may have been stolen.

I've been to The Philippines. It's corrupt (and dangerous with gangsters) af. The people are gentle and generous (and hugely intimidated/ under threat by their gov. Perhaps this was the tipping point for the people. Btw, there are 113MILLION people in Fils.

Owners were told they could spend the night but would have to leave today or possibly be subject to arrest.
