To mute a chat in Telegram, head over to the chat in question. Next, tap the name at the top and then hit the mute button. This is incredibly useful for keeping track of an important URL, getting an image to another device without cloud storage, or keeping a record of important information. Tap the title bar at the top to browse by media type and make it easier to find past messages you saved. To preview a chat, simply press and hold its profile picture in your chat list.
Next up, tap Sound and then choose your custom notification sound located under the Telegram Tones section. Make sure to tap Done at the top right to finish. Interestingly, Telegram names your custom notification sound as Cloud Tone and also allows you to upload any audio as a notification sound for a chat. You can take a new photo, upload an existing one, search the web for a new image, or remove your current photo. Also, it enables you to send the current location as well.
