Success story of: 🌿 Padma Shri: The Apple Man of India – Hariman Sharma (Himachal Pradesh)
🍎 Innovation: Developed HRMN-99 – a self-pollinating, low-chilling apple variety that grows even in tropical & sub-tropical regions (40–45°C).
➡️ Made apple farming possible in plains, previously thought impossible.
🏡 Background:
Orphaned in childhood, studied till matric, and started farming in Paniala village (Bilaspur, HP). In 1998, he planted discarded apple seeds — one sprouted and by 2001, bore fruit in hot climate 🌱.
He preserved & propagated it through grafting, creating HRMN-99 🍏.

🌾 Validated by ICAR, KVKs & Agri Universities
📍 Now HRMN-99 grown in 29 States/UTs & even at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi
