🌻 Farmers Encouraged to Grow More Safflower! 🌻

👉 In Dharwad, the Agriculture Department has launched a drive to revive safflower cultivation among farmers.
🌾 Farmers are being motivated to sow safflower seeds, which are being distributed free of cost by the department.
💧 Safflower is a drought-tolerant and low-water crop, making it ideal for dryland farming areas.
🩺 Known for its medicinal value and use in healthy edible oil, safflower also serves as nutritious cattle feed.
🏭 Officials said efforts are being made to boost oilseed production and encourage farmers towards value addition through small processing units.
💰 Farmers can also avail subsidies and interest-free loans under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) scheme for setting up such units.
🌼 The initiative aims to enhance farmers’ income, reduce dependence on imported oils, and bring back traditional crops suited to local conditions.
