I ask Allah to accept His servant Yahya al-Sinwar among the martyrs, to grant him righteous successors among his men, to protect the people of Gaza and grant them victory, and to elevate Islam and the Muslims.

Here are some reflections on the news:

1. Dying in the cause of Allah is a great honor, and martyrdom is a lofty and high status. Even the people of Paradise, after entering it and witnessing its bliss, wish for it. Congratulations to those whom Allah accepts as martyrs.
The enemies of Islam have sought to distort the concept of martyrdom and to strip the love of it from the hearts of Muslims, distracting them with trivialities and materialism. This has led many to embody what the Prophet ﷺ foretold about his Ummah in the end times: that Allah would instill weakness in their hearts, which is the "love of the worldly life and the fear of death."
Yet, a few among this Ummah still race towards martyrdom and believe in its sanctity, foremost among them are our people in Gaza.
This Ummah will not succeed unless it regains its love for martyrdom and meeting Allah, raises its youth on these noble values, and unless its scholars and preachers lead by reviving these meanings both in knowledge and in practice.

2. As the news of the tragedies from Gaza continues and its people endure difficult blows, many believers' hearts have shattered, and their fear and anxiety have intensified. Some may even have had bad thoughts.
To them, I say: Do you think that what Allah mentioned in the Qur'an about the trials of the believers "until the Messenger and those who believed with him would say, 'When is Allah’s support (coming)?'" (2:214) was an easy or quick test that could be easily passed? No, by Allah; it was a stern test. The messenger and the believers did not say, "When is Allah’s support (coming)?" because of short, passing trials, but rather due to prolonged and severe tribulations, where hope was lost except in Allah, the Almighty. Let us understand this well, and let us cut all ties except with Allah. Let us be among those about whom Allah said: "They did not waver regardless of that which afflicted them in the way of Allah, nor did they weaken, nor did they give in." (3:146)

3. While social media has been filled with grief, condolences, and eulogies, it has also not been void of hypocrites who have engaged in mockery, joy, and ridicule. In doing so, they renew for us the stories of Abdullah bin Ubayy bin Salul and his group, about whom Allah revealed verses that will be recited until the Day of Judgment. Among those verses is: "If any good touches you, it upsets them. But if anything evil befalls you, they rejoice at it." (3:120) This has always been their way: rejoicing in the misfortunes of the believers and being upset at their victories.
If Allah clarified their conditions in many verses while Islam was strong and the Prophet ﷺ was present among the people, then how about now? This clarification today is from the obligations.

4. We must understand the nature of the battle that the enemy is waging against this Ummah today and realize its dimensions. It is not a partial battle, nor is it limited to Palestine alone. It is not being fought by the occupying entity alone, nor is it merely a battle to eliminate Palestinian resistance. It is a battle to reshape the map and achieve total domination by the occupying entity and its allies in the region, aiming to create a new Middle East in which Israel sits at the top. This effort is supported fully and openly by some Western powers, both militarily and morally, driven by a shared Zionist belief between Jews and Evangelicals to fulfill the prophecies of the Bible in Palestine and the region, not to mention other material interests. All of this is happening with the complete loyalty of hypocrites, with their wealth and media, enabling us to see before our eyes the great schemes and threats to Islam's very foundations, strongholds, and defensive lines. Therefore, one of the major current priorities is to raise awareness of this battle and not to underestimate it. We are living in times where reality is closer to fiction.

Yet, we believe that Allah Almighty governs the universe and wills good for this Ummah, and He will grant victory to those who support Him.
Perhaps everything happening today is paving the way for the Ummah's victory tomorrow, after it awakens, works hard, and puts the Hereafter before the worldly life, aligns with its allies, and opposes its enemies.

So, rise, my brother, do not weaken, do not grieve, do not be defeated, and seek help from Allah. The road is still long, and "this worldly life is but amusement," (40:39) and the final outcome is for the righteous.

Questioner: "Sheikh Ahmad, what if Palestine is like Andalusia and East Turkestan? Weren't the people of Andalusia also praying to Allah and hoping for victory? What guarantees change for us?"

Answer:
1. The Prophet ﷺ said: "A group from my Ummah will continue to fight for the Truth, victorious until the Day of Judgment. He said: "Then, ʿIsa (Jesus) son of Maryam (Mary), peace be upon him, will descend, and their (Muslims') leader will say: 'Come, lead us in prayer.' But he will say: 'No, some of you are leaders over others, as an honor from Allah to this Ummah.'" Narrated by Muslim.
And this descent will take place in Damascus, as stated in the Sahih.

2. The hadith of ʿIsa (Jesus) ﷺ killing the Dajjal (Antichrist) in Palestine [authentic, narrated by Muslim].

There is still time and rounds to come, and Allah has full power and control over His Affairs.

A severe test and difficult trial confronts the Islamic Ummah today with the massacres, bloodshed, occupation, and tyranny committed by the occupying entity and its allies.
With each passing day and night comes news of bloodshed, dismembered bodies, torture, displacement, arrests, starvation, and oppression. Through this, we are undergoing a true test of our faith, certainty, sincerity, devotion, knowledge, and da’wah.
It is also a test of our love for Allah and His Messenger—whether we place this love above our self-interest and worldly desires, leading us to sacrifice and strive, or do we prioritize ourselves, become absorbed in personal pursuits, and turn away to indulge in distraction and play?

Yes, we are being tested today, just as the Messengers and their followers were tested: "Until the Messenger and those who believed with him would say, 'When is Allah’s support (coming)?'" (2:214) Our brothers are being killed and tortured, just as Sumayyah was killed (pierced by a spear in her private area), as well as Yasir, Mus'ab, Hamza (whose stomach was ripped open, and his body mutilated), Zaid, the beloved of the Prophet, Ja'far (whose arms were cut off, and whose body received fifty strikes from swords and spears), and Anas ibn al-Nadr (whose body bore no recognizable mark). And just as the Prophets were killed by the ancestors of these oppressive occupiers, "Say, 'Why (then) do you kill Allah’s prophets—earlier—if you are believers?'" (2:91)
And what follows all of this?
For the martyrs, there is Paradise as vast as the heavens and the earth; for the disbelievers, there is Hellfire; and for the believers who stand firm and support the truth: there is victory and establishment.
This is history, so read it. Recall the feeling of Bilal ibn Rabah when he called the Adhan on the day of Mecca’s conquest, after having been previously dragged through its streets and tortured, "And something else you love: support from Allah and an imminent conquest. So give glad tidings to the believers." (61:13)

Yes, it is a difficult and harsh test, but with Allah’s permission, it marks the beginning of the end to prolonged oppression that has gripped the Ummah, distorted its values and principles, empowered its corrupt over its righteous, and its evildoers over its virtuous. It has preoccupied many of the Ummah’s children with frivolity, heedlessness, and delusional ideas.

The beginning of this end will occur when we wake up and realize the need to disassociate from oppression, oppressors, hypocrisy, and hypocrites. When we understand that this Ummah has no true supporters except its sincere children, only then will we aid them, stand by them, and sacrifice for their cause.
We will raise ourselves and our children upon this path, abandoning the stagnation of modern life, which has hardened the soul and enslaved man to the grind of the modern state—making him nothing more than a cog in its crushing wheel, from his education to his death, with no concern but his career. He studies for it, dedicates his energy toward it, fears losing it, and clings to those "who granted it to him." And then he wonders: why am I helpless?

It is one of Allah’s laws that the reckoning for oppression and tyranny begins in this world before the Hereafter—but according to Allah’s timing, not ours, nor by our impatience.
Allah will send upon these killers those who will make them taste the worst punishment, "And recall when your Lord announced that He would most surely send against them someone who would inflict terrible punishment upon them until the Day of Resurrection." (7:167)

Likewise, the traitors who besieged Gaza and aided the occupation will see the consequences of their treachery and betrayal, as will the plotters who unleashed their fools to wage war on those who support the religion.
Everything is written with Allah and has its accounting. Were it not for the life of this world, Allah would never have allowed believers to suffer even a speck of harm, "Had Allah willed, He could have defeated them Himself, but He thus tests some of you by means of others." (47:4)
Indeed, the duration of the trial endures only as a test and trial for the believers, and a means of leading the wrongdoers to ruin, and Allah does not fear that anyone will escape Him; He does not hasten the punishment of anyone—glory be to Him—but rather He plans everything with His wisdom and power.

The believers who strive to uphold the truth and abolish falsehood will also see the outcome of their efforts, sacrifices, and giving, "And most surely, Allah will support whoever supports Him." (22:40)

This past year, since the onset of events in Gaza, has been enough for people to see the truth. Whoever has not seen it until today will never see it in their lifetime, and nothing is expected of them after this. So woe to the heedless, woe to those indulging in idle pleasures, and woe to those who led people astray, distracted nations, and prevented them from supporting their brothers. Glad tidings to the patient, glad tidings to the martyrs, and glad tidings to those who hold onto their good expectations of Allah, the Almighty.

We are living through this painful chapter today, but tomorrow, by the will of Allah, the Ummah will turn this page to live a chapter of counteraction, followed by a chapter of triumph and establishment, and Allah has full control over His Affairs, but most of people do not know.

Glad tidings to those steadfast in supporting the oppressed in Gaza and Sudan, to those committed to exposing the hypocrites, strengthening the believers, awakening the heedless, disassociating from the oppressors, rebuking the openly sinful—those who have not left their platforms, nor ceased their efforts to support, nor stopped their supplication and Qunut prayers.
Those whom their lives have transformed, becoming indifferent to the worldly life, longing for the Hereafter, striving towards Allah with every step within their capacity, believing [in Allah and His promises], trusting [in His imminent support and fulfillment of His word], relying [upon Him], persevering with patience while mindful of the reward awaiting their sacrifices for Allah’s sake, confident that victory comes only from Him, the Exalted.

As for the dampeners, who have done nothing since the beginning of the events but criticize those exerting effort and belittle the steps they take, they are among the most harmful to the affairs of the Ummah. They were neither the ones supporting their brothers nor letting others act with what they could. Their stock is mere talk; their habit is laziness, casting blame and accusations.

O Allah, grant victory to our people in Gaza and Sudan, and take avenge from the traitors who rush to aid Your enemies, fight against Your allies, support corruption and its people, and obstruct the truth and its people.

The degradation of humanity in its ugliest form is embodied in what the criminals are doing to our people in northern Gaza of torture, brutal retribution, killing, and destruction, and in the actions of those who aid the occupation and rush to support it, both secretly and openly, through endorsement and assistance, while waging war on every impactful form of support for our brothers in Gaza.

All of this is intended to eliminate the spirit of honor and dignity in Gaza and the Ummah, clearing the region of anything that could disturb the flow of their expansive projects, which aim to clip the wings of Islam, extend the wings of Zionism, and the wings of those who have reconciled with them.

While the entire world witnesses these brutal massacres—and many even rejoice in them—and while millions of Muslims are distracted from their brothers, even from giving moral or financial support, amid all of this, the hearts of many Muslims burn, and their breaths choke with sorrow and grief for their brothers, with hatred and bitterness toward the criminals, and with anguish over the chains, barriers, and restraints holding them back.

"There the believers were tested and shaken with a severe shaking." (33:11)

"Until even the Messenger and those who believed along with him said, 'When will Allah’s help come?'" (2:214)

"And sufficient is your Lord as a Guide and Helper." (25:31)

Here, all slogans vanish, and nothing remains but certainty in Allah alone, and He is sufficient for us and the Best Disposer of affairs.

O Allah, grant us Your relief, Your victory, Your aid, and Your support, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

Whoever reflects upon the Qur’an realizes well that the affluent have always been at the forefront of opposing the reformers and spreading immorality and corruption. They ultimately cause Allah to destroy the community that either accepts their actions or fails to denounce them, as Allah says:

[And when We want to annihilate a town We command its affluent ones (to be righteous), yet they defiantly disobey (Our commands) in it, so it deserves the decree and We annihilate it completely] [ Surah : Al-'Isrā]

None are saved from this [fate] except those who forbid evil and wrongdoing to the extent of their ability.

A believer’s sensitivity to sins and their impact on him should increase as he grows in faith, accumulates good deeds, gains knowledge, and progresses further on the path to the Hereafter. When a believer reaches elevated levels of servitude to Allah, he fears losing these ranks due to his sins. This fear deepens his piety and reverence for Allah, leading him to avoid minor sins, leave doubtful matters, and act cautiously. This is one of the signs of steadfastness and guidance.

From this, we observe the fear and awe of the righteous before their Lord, their fleeing from sins and disobedience, and their avoidance of doubtful matters—how numerous are the stories that attest to this.

In contrast, how numerous are the stories of those who were lenient with sins and disobedience, deceived by their past steadfastness, history in knowledge, da’wah, or Islamic work. As a result, they became lenient in [misusing] public funds, committing injustices, pursuing personal gains, or similar issues.

We ask Allah for forgiveness and well-being.
