استقبلنا مساء اليوم سيادة رئيس مجلس النواب العراقي، الدكتور محمود المشهداني، وتناولنا في معرض اللقاء تطوّرات الأوضاع في المنطقة وموقف العراق ومدى تأثّره بها.
جدّدنا إدانتنا للقصف الذي تعرّضت له المنشآت النووية الإيرانية، وبيّنّا أن ذلك يُعدّ انتهاكًا صارخًا للقانون الدولي والمواثيق الدولية، كما أكّدنا موقف العراق الداعم للجمهورية الإسلامية الإيرانية ، مع التأكيد على ضرورة اتخاذ الاحتياطات اللازمة لتلافي الآثار البيئية أو التلوّث المحتمل الذي قد يصل إلى العراق.
كما تم التأكيد على أهمية الانتخابات النيابية المقبلة وضرورة إجرائها في موعدها المحدد، مع الإشارة إلى أهمية تشريع القوانين الأساسية، ولا سيما تلك التي تمس حياة المواطنين وتُسهم في تحقيق التنمية في البلاد.
This evening, we met with the Speaker of Parliament, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, to discuss regional developments and Iraq’s stance and exposure to their repercussions.
We reiterated our strong condemnation of the strike targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities, stressing that it constitutes a flagrant breach of international law and global conventions. We also reaffirmed Iraq’s position in support of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while underscoring the importance of taking the necessary precautions to prevent any potential environmental fallout or contamination that could affect Iraq.
The discussion further emphasized the significance of holding the upcoming parliamentary elections on time, and the urgent need to pass essential legislation—particularly those that affect the daily lives of citizens and support the country’s development efforts.

آلمنا نبأُ الاعتداء الإرهابي الذي استهدف كنيسة (مار إلياس) في العاصمة السورية دمشق، وأدى إلى سقوط عشرات الضحايا، وإذ ندين هذا العمل الإرهابي، فإننا نطالب الحكومة السورية بتحمّل مسؤولياتها في حماية المواطنين من مختلف المكونات والأديان والطوائف.

في منطقة الغزالية ببغداد، التقينا جمعاً من شيوخ ووجهاء قبيلة بني لام والعشائر الكريمة الأخرى، وأشرنا إلى الظروف الاستثنائية التي تمر بها المنطقة، وجدّدنا التأكيد على أن الجمهورية الإسلامية الإيرانية قد تعرّضت لاعتداءٍ ظالم، غيلةً وغدراً، في ظل استمرار المفاوضات وتبادل الآراء والطروحات، وأكدنا دعم العراق لإيران في المجالات السياسية والإعلامية والإغاثية.

We received His Excellency Mr. Robin Milton, Chargé d'Affaires at the British Embassy, at our office to discuss the bilateral relationship between Iraq and the United Kingdom and explore avenues for its further development. Our meeting also covered recent political developments in Iraq and across the region.
We reiterated our call for the international community to fulfill its duty in exerting pressure on the israeli entity to maintain the ceasefire and move toward long-term regional stability. We noted that the recent crisis has underscored the solidarity of Arab and Islamic nations with the actions taken by the Islamic Republic of Iran in response to the aggression it faced.
We emphasized that the brutal massacres against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank continue unabated, and we urged the international community to act to end these atrocities and uphold the remaining principles of human dignity and justice.
Once again, we condemned the violations of Iraq’s sovereignty, particularly the breach of its airspace and attempts to entangle it in regional conflicts.
We also illustrated the critical importance of the upcoming elections in Iraq, describing them as a pivotal moment for consolidating the democratic process and reinforcing the country’s current stability. This, in turn, will contribute to sustained national development and the strengthening of Iraq’s regional and international partnerships. We called on all parties to take responsibility for preserving this stability and transforming it into a lasting one.

We emphasized that this group represents the "living martyrs"—individuals who made profound sacrifices and endured severe torture and oppression in the prisons of the former regime in defense of the Iraqi people’s just causes.
We also stressed the importance of preserving and documenting their legacy through diverse means such as art, literature, and educational curricula, to ensure that future generations are aware of that painful chapter in our history and to prevent its recurrence.
Additionally, we highlighted the rich diversity of this important group, which includes doctors, scientists, artists, writers, and professionals from various fields. We called for the development of a clear strategy to harness their skills in the service of the nation. لقد باتت المخدرات اليوم وسيلة مدمّرة تستهدف عقول الشباب، وتُدمّر الأسر، وتُفكّك المجتمعات، مستغلّةً الظروف الاقتصادية، والبطالة، وضعف الوعي المجتمعي، لتغرس سمومها في جسد الوطن، ما يستدعي استنفاراً شاملاً لكافة الجهود الرسمية والشعبية، لمواجهة هذا الخطر الداهم.

Drugs have become a devastating weapon aimed at the minds of young people, tearing apart families and destabilizing communities. Taking advantage of economic hardship, rising unemployment, and a lack of societal awareness, this menace seeps into the nation’s core—demanding a unified and urgent response from both state institutions and the public.
In Iraq, we call on the government and all relevant bodies to intensify their crackdown on drug traffickers and distributors, to strengthen support for security forces in dismantling criminal networks, and to launch comprehensive national awareness campaigns that reach schools, universities, and the wider society. We also stress the need to establish specialized centers for addiction treatment and rehabilitation, helping individuals reintegrate and rebuild their lives.
We urge families, civil society organizations, and religious and community leaders to fulfill their moral and national responsibilities in confronting this danger, raising awareness, and protecting our youth from falling into the grip of these destructive substances.
