إنها ملحمة تُعدّ من أعظم الصفحات في تاريخ العراق الحديث، وقد شكّلت أنموذجًا فريدًا لتلاحم شعب العراق حول مرجعيته الدينية، مما يعكس حجم استعداده للتضحية، ووحدته الوطنية، وتشبّثه بحقه في التحرر والسيادة.
إن تخليد تلك الذكرى كفيلٌ باستلهام العبر من تاريخنا لبناء الحاضر وصناعة مستقبل أجيالنا على نحوٍ مستقل، بعيدًا عن فرض الإملاءات الخارجية.

خلال لقائنا بمحافظ النجف الأشرف، المهندس يوسف مكي گناوي، استمعنا منه إلى واقع المدينة الخدمي والتنموي، والمشاريع التي تنتظرها محافظة النجف.
وجددنا التأكيد على خصوصية هذه المحافظة المقدسة، وبُعدها الديني والتاريخي، إذ تحتضن مرقد الإمام علي (عليه السلام)، بالإضافة إلى مراقد عدد من الأنبياء والصالحين، كما أنها مدينة المرجعية الدينية المباركة والحوزة العلمية، وهي خصائص تجعل المسؤولية تجاهها مضاعفة.
وأشدنا بكل الجهود المبذولة في افتتاح المشاريع والتخطيط للمشاريع المستقبلية.
ودعونا أيضًا إلى الاستفادة من الإمكانات العلمية لمحافظة النجف، وشددنا على أهمية تنسيق المواقف مع المراكز البحثية والاستشارية لإيجاد الحلول للمشكلات العالقة، كما جددنا دعوتنا إلى منح الحكومات المحلية صلاحياتها الدستورية واستحقاقاتها المالية، لتمكينها من تنفيذ رؤيتها وبرامجها التنموية.
During our meeting with the Governor of Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf, Engineer Youssef Makki Gannawi, we were briefed on the province’s current service and development reality, as well as the key projects awaiting implementation in the province.
We reaffirmed the special status of this sacred city, with its deep religious and historical roots. As the resting place of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) and several other prophets and revered figures, and as the heart of the religious authority and the seminary, the province holds a unique position that demands heightened responsibility from those who serve it.
We lauded the ongoing efforts to launch and plan vital projects and stressed the need to tap into the city’s academic and scientific potential. We also underscored the importance of working closely with research and advisory institutions to address unresolved challenges. Additionally, we reiterated our call to grant local governments their rightful constitutional powers and financial entitlements, so they can effectively carry out their vision and development agendas.
