أيها الشباب.. كونوا سببا في دفع بلدكم نحو الأمام

التقينا صباح اليوم، بالقائم بأعمال سفارة الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية في بغداد، السفير ستيفن فاجين.
وبيّنا أن العراق يعيش حالة من التعايش السلمي والتضامن المجتمعي غير المسبوق، وهو ما تعكسه الأيام الأولى من شهر محرّم الحرام، وأوضحنا أن العراق، ممثلاً بالحكومة والقوى السياسية والفعاليات الاجتماعية، بذل جهودًا كبيرة لتجنيب البلاد تداعيات التصعيد الإقليمي، والدفاع عن سيادة العراق ومصالحه الوطنية.
وأشرنا إلى أن العراق يراعي التوازنات الدولية، ويحرص على تعميق شراكاته الدولية.
كما أكدنا ضرورة الحفاظ على الاستقرار الإقليمي و عدم العودة إلى الحروب، فالمنطقة دفعت ضرائب كبرى في العقود الماضية و حان الوقت لترسيخ الاستقرار فيها.
وشددنا على أهمية استثمار الفرص الواعدة المتاحة في السوق العراقية، وتعزيز الشراكات الاقتصادية، والاستفادة من خبرات الشركات الأمريكية، كما جددنا دعمنا للحكومة في سياستها الخارجية، القائمة على الانفتاح على المحيط الدولي والبيئة الإقليمية.
وأكدنا أن الانتخابات المقبلة تعدّ محطة مهمة ومفصلية، لما لها من دور في ترسيخ الديمقراطية وتعزيز الاستقرار في العراق والمنطقة، وقلنا إن جوهر الديمقراطية يتمثل في العملية الانتخابية والتداول السلمي للسلطة.
This morning, we met with the Chargé d'Affaires of the United States Embassy in Baghdad, Ambassador Steven Fagin.
We highlighted that Iraq is witnessing an unprecedented era of peaceful coexistence and social unity, clearly reflected in the atmosphere of the early days of the holy month of Muharram. We also noted that the government, political forces, and social institutions have worked diligently to shield the country from the fallout of regional tensions while upholding Iraq’s sovereignty and safeguarding its national interests.
We underscored Iraq’s commitment to maintaining a balanced approach in international relations and its dedication to expanding global partnerships. Additionally, we emphasized the importance of preserving regional stability and avoiding the return to conflict, as the region has already endured significant hardship over the past decades. It is now time to consolidate regional peace.
We also pointed to the valuable opportunities within the Iraqi market, calling for stronger economic cooperation and greater engagement with American expertise and investment. We reiterated our support for the government's foreign policy, which is rooted in openness toward both the international community and the surrounding region.
We concluded by affirming that the upcoming elections represent a vital turning point, given their role in reinforcing democratic governance and contributing to long-term stability in Iraq and the broader region. We stressed that the heart of democracy lies in free elections and the peaceful transfer of power.
