PROOF OF DRAGONS β ALEXANDER THE GREAT
When Alexander threw some parts of India into a commotion and took possession of others, he encountered among many other animals a serpent which lived in a cavern and was regarded as sacred by the Indians who paid it great and superstitious reverence. Accordingly Indians went to all lengths imploring Alexander to permit nobody to attack the serpent ; and he assented to their wish. Now as the army passed by the cavern and caused a noise, the serpent was aware of it. (It has, you know, the sharpest hearing and the keenest sight of all animals.) And it hissed and snorted so violently that all were terrified and confounded. It was reported to measure 70 cubits although it was not visible in all its length, for it only put its head out. At any rate its eyes are said to have been the size of a large, round Macedonian shield.

After doing some digging I realized I could include WAY MORE but for the sake of not going extremely overboard I am leaving out the vast majority of my material. I know for some of you that thought probably sounds downright criminal lol but this series would literally last almost an entire year if I included all the material. If you guys screech at me over this I might reconsider though.

The Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition (AYPE) was a world's fair held in Seattle, Washington, from June 1 to October 16, 1909, on the grounds of the University of Washington campus.
Purpose:
To celebrate the wealth and development spurred by the Klondike Gold Rush.
To promote Seattle and the Pacific Northwest as a gateway for trade with Alaska, the Canadian Yukon, and the Pacific Rim (Asia/Orient).
Impact & Legacy:
The fair attracted over 3.7 million visitors and was a financial success.
The overall design, planned by the Olmsted Brothers, permanently shaped the University of Washington campus, creating the iconic Rainier Vista (a landscaped axis) and Drumheller Fountain (originally the Geyser Basin).
A few structures were built permanently for the University, including what is now Architecture Hall and Cunningham Hall.
The fair featured major government and industry exhibits, alongside "The Pay Streak" amusement area, which included popular but controversial ethnographic displays like the "Igorot Village."

PROOF OF DRAGONS β MARCO POLO
XLVII.βThe Province of Karazan and its great Serpents.
When a man leaves Yaci, or Chiaci, and goes ten days westward, he finds the province of Karazan, with a capital of the same name. The people are all idolaters, and subject to the great khan; the king is a son of that monarch, named Kogatin. Gold dust is found in the river, and on the mountains in large pieces so abundantly that a bar is given for six of silver. The porcelain, too, formerly described circulates for money, but is procured from India. Here are snakes and serpents so huge as to strike all men with astonishment; they are ten paces long, ten palms broad, and have no feet, but only a hoof like that of the lion; the nose is like a loaf of bread, the mouth so huge that it would swallow at once a man whole; the teeth are immense, nor is there any wild beast whom they do not strike with terror.

There are smaller ones eight paces long and six palms broad. The mode of catching them is this: βThey remain during the day in great caverns under the earth, to avoid the heat, but at night go out to feed, and seize all the animals whom they can reach; they also seek drink at the rivers, fountains, and lakes, and then make a deep track in the sand, as if a barrel had been dragged through it.
In it the people fix a stake, fasten to it a steel instrument sharpened like a razor, and cover it over with sand. When the serpent comes through the track, and strikes against the steel, he is pierced with such violence, that his body is divided from one side to the other, as high as the umbilical cord, and he presently dies. They then take the body and extract the gall-bladder, which they sell very dear, being an excellent medicine for the bite of a mad dog, when administered in small dozes.
