SoFi Stadium, designed by @hksarchitects, is a unique stadium in Southern California. The region's unique architecture and geography significantly impacted its design. The monumental exterior shell and roof structure create a distinctive look reminiscent of Pacific coastal waves.
The partially submerged design and sculpted roof, bowl, and concourses create the feeling of an outdoor venue while providing the flexibility of a traditional domed stadium. The monumental roof, made of single-layer ethylene tetrafluoroethylene with over 300 panels, was also influenced by the region's climate and the porous canopy comprises more than 35,000 anodized aluminum panels, with each panel conforming to the geometry so that no two are the same.
