🔹 Ayatullah Tahriri:
📿 According to the verses of the Holy Qur'an and the narrations, the holy month of Ramadhan is one of the best months of Almighty Allah, wherein he provided many opportunities to His servants for them to have a special relationship with Him.

🔹 Ayatullah Tahriri:
🔖 Repenting and returning to Allah does not have one specific manner and form, nor is it something extremely difficult.
📌 The Merciful Lord has extended the arms of His Mercy towards the sinful servants such that making amends does not require difficulty, insistence or pleading.
🕯 Rather, all that is required is paying attention to one’s errors, shortcomings and heedlessness as well as feeling ashamed on account of them. This is enough for repentance and for Allah to then return back to His servant.
💐 After such awareness, Allah Himself prevents His servant’s negligence from continuing. Thus, man should value this state of repentence and seek to realize its conditions.

🌻 Advice from Ayatullah Tahriri on how to benefit best from the month of Zil Qa'dah (Part 1 of 4)
♦️ Different aspects of this month highlight its nobility and importance:
1⃣ The month begins with the birth anniversary of Lady Ma'sumah (s), whose birth was foretold by the 6th holy Imam (s) when he said: "Qom, with the presence of this noble lady, will become the haram of the Ahlul Bayt (s)."
2⃣ It is the first of the 4 haraam months in which Allah (swt) has forbidden war.
3⃣ The 25th of this month, known as dahwul ardh, (the day when the earth expanded) is an important day for which certain recommended acts have also been prescribed.
4⃣ The month of Zil Qa'dah, as well as the first 10 days of the month of Zil Hijjah are blessed days in which Allah (swt) promised Prophet Musa a meeting that would last for forty days, wherein Allah would converse with him.
5⃣ Before this (the story of Musa), during the time of prophet Ibrahim, Allah (swt) made Hajj wajib, the actions of which begin during this month. “We made an appointment with Moses for thirty nights, and completed them with ten [more]; thus the tryst of his Lord was completed in forty nights.”
6⃣ The 40 days leading up to the 10th of Zil Hijjah begin with this month.
🔹 Overall, our great scholars would pay very special attention to these 40 days due to the verse (“We made an appointment with Moses for thirty nights, and completed them with ten [more]; thus the tryst of his Lord was completed in forty nights.”) as well as various narrations talking about the number 40 [and the importance of carrying out acts for forty days], emphasising that if a person has sincerity during these days, its effects would be seen.
🔸 Of course, having sincerity is not limited to these 40 days, and the phenomenal results of sincerity would be seen any time of the year.

💯 The number 40 is a minimum period after which a person can be said to have acquired perseverance on a certain noble path. The advice of the shariah' is that man must acquire steadfastness and constancy with regards to good actions. And thus, with regards to constancy in worship we have been advised the following:
✏️ “Less deeds with persistence and continuity are better than a lot of worship without continuity.”
✏️ In some narrations we are told that when man decides to start performing a certain action (other than the wajib acts, which must be performed at all times without fail) it is recommended that he performs it for one whole year before its effects are seen, since in the span of one year, he will surely have the night of Qadr once, and thus he would end up performing this act during the night of Qadr.
♦️ The virtue of the number 40:
✏️ HADITH - "Whosoever acts with sincerity for Allah for 40 days, springs of wisdom will flow from his heart to his tongue."
🔰 Performing an act for 40 days is not restricted to this month and can be done throughout the year, however since this matter occurred for a prophet of Allah during this month (and Allah gave the promise of completing it for 10 more days, and in which Musa had a very special spiritual state), the great scholars specifically pay more attention to this period.
🔰 Those who are striving on the path, combatting the base desires and are men of worship, give importance to other days of the year as well, especially the months of Rajab, Sha'ban and the holy month of Ramadhan.
🔰 The late Mirza Jawad Maaliki Tabrizi mentions the following in his noble book Al-Muraqibaat:
- The first blessing that we can benefit from during this "haraam month" is that we don't stand in opposition to Allah (swt), and fight with our lowly self which always wants to fight and oppose Allah (swt). Just as war has been forbidden in this month, we should also abandon our war with Allah (swt).

✅ The first point which is essential to keep into consideration during this month (and is the first step towards sincerity in actions) is acting on the wajibaat, and staying away from the muharamaat, as well as self-accounting (muhasibah).
✅ That which is important during these 40 days is analysing ourselves and seeing if we are really abiding by all the obligatory acts and staying away from all the forbidden acts.
✅ Our great scholars would help those who they knew to be performing their wajibaat and avoiding their muharmaat with added recommended actions and other beneficial instructions that would help purify that souls, so that these individuals greater pay attention to the ethical vices [and strive to get rid of them].
✅ This 40 days is an exercise to ensure evil traits such as jealousy, arrogance are not manifested, as well as an exercise to practice and bring consistency in good actions.
✅ Another matter is to stay away from sinners and people that have ghaflah (those who are heedless and do not pay attention to religion).
⚠️ Certain people who have sufi tendencies claim that in these 40 days one should sit in the treasure-trove of his house and cut all relations with the outer world, having nothing to do with community affairs, whilst this is not something that the noble shariah has prescribed! If I don't have any relation with others, how will my nafs manifest itself? I have to perform the normal and needed daily routine actions so that it can become clear for me how much attention I give to ensure that all my actions are according to the shariah of islam.

📿 Zil Qa'dah Sunday Prayer (The Prayer of Tawbah)
🎁 The merits of this prayer:
The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) is reported as having mentioned a great reward for those who offer a special prayer on Sundays in Dhu’l-Qa’dah, adding that their repentance would be accepted, their sins forgiven, their rivals made pleased with them on the Resurrection Day, caused to die on true faith, given the true religion, granted expansion and light in the grave, the parents made pleased with them, their parents and offspring had their sins forgiven, provided with expansive sustenance, and granted lenience of the Angel of Death and easiness of their souls leaving their bodies.
📜 The method of this prayer:
One should bathe oneself on Sunday, perform wudu’, and offer a four-unit prayer in each unit of which «Surah al-Fatehah» is recited once, «Surah al-Tawheed» repeated three times, and «Surah al-Falaq» and «al-Nas» recited once each. After that, «Istighfar» is repeated seventy times, and, finally, the following statement is said:
لا حَوْلَ وَ لا قُوَّةَ اِلا بِاللّٰهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ
After that, the following supplicatory prayer is said:
يَا عَزِيزُ يَا غَفَّارُ اغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي وَ ذُنُوبَ جَمِيعِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ فَاِنَّهُ لا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ اِلا اَنْتَ

The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) is reported as having mentioned a great reward for those who offer a special prayer on Sundays in Dhu’l-Qa’dah, adding that their repentance would be accepted, their sins forgiven, their rivals made pleased with them on the Resurrection Day, caused to die on true faith, given the true religion, granted expansion and light in the grave, the parents made pleased with them, their parents and offspring had their sins forgiven, provided with expansive sustenance, and granted lenience of the Angel of Death and easiness of their souls leaving their bodies.
📜 The method of this prayer:
One should bathe oneself on Sunday, perform wudu’, and offer a four-unit prayer in each unit of which «Surah al-Fatehah» is recited once, «Surah al-Tawheed» repeated three times, and «Surah al-Falaq» and «al-Nas» recited once each. After that, «Istighfar» is repeated seventy times, and, finally, the following statement is said:
لا حَوْلَ وَ لا قُوَّةَ اِلا بِاللّٰهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ
After that, the following supplicatory prayer is said:
يَا عَزِيزُ يَا غَفَّارُ اغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي وَ ذُنُوبَ جَمِيعِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ فَاِنَّهُ لا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ اِلا اَنْتَ
