Can someone explain the time travel thing to me like I'm 5 years old?

>!Just finished watching AoT for the first time, but the whole time travel thing is still confusing.!<

>!I do get the Attack Titan's power of seeing future inheritors' memories part. What I don't get however is how Eren, who has the Founding Titan without talking to Grisha first, ended up having to talk to Grisha to obtain the exact Founding Titan he already has? (so i guess the image bellow is what happens?)!<

>!Would his Founding Titan powers just disappear had he not talked to his father!<

>!I did read a few explanations on it but all of them were very complex and I couldn't make a thing out of them, so would appreciate a dumbed down version on how it is possible!<

“In the end, was I truly free? Or just a slave to the freedom I always wanted?” – Eren Yeager

That line really got to me, you know, like picturing Eren right there, spilling his guts in some deep talk.

He spent his whole life running after freedom, but then it turned on him. Chained him down so bad he had to wreck it all, even parts of himself. Was that really freedom. Or more like getting stuck in a different cage, I mean.

Eren never really had much choice, did he. Seemed like from that awful moment watching his mom go, he was set on this brutal road.

Anyway, what do you figure. I'd love your take on it. Oh and if you're into this stuff, Here you can read an interview with Eren.
