How many deaths are in the entirety of AoT?

Not including the rumbling, how many total on-screen deaths are there? Is there a difference between the anime and the manga?

Why is Commander Pixis so Underrated?

Is there a reason why Pixis doesn't get a lot of love? From my first time watchibg the show he stood head and shoulders about literally everyone else (Colossal Titan included hehehe). But he definitely does a lot to support the war in Paradise and resist the common titan foe. I believe he deserves more love than some guy like Erwin who doesn't do much.

So why? Explain

Do you think armored titan would do the same if it was Historia and not Armin?

Any shows / animes you guys think are as good or better than AoT?

I have only watched a handful of Animes, but AoT has spoiled me. It’s not just the best Anime I have ever seen, it’s the best fictional story I have ever consumed across any medium. There are some extremely highly rated anime’s I haven’t checked out though, so I’m curious what other shows/Anime’s AoT fans rate as highly or higher.

Some shows I’ve been told to check out:
- Vinland Saga
- Hunter X Hunter
- full metal alchemist brotherhood
- Frieren
- Neon Genesis Evangelion

My interpretation of Ymirs "love" for King Fritz

Some people think Ymir "loving" King Fritz is dumb, but I believe that stems from a narrow, mainstream interpretation of love—specifically romantic love.

Ymir didn’t love Fritz as a person; rather, she loved the absence of choice. Making choices brings pain, and her obedience reflects a deep-rooted slave mentality. In that sense, she parallels Mikasa. What ultimately freed her was someone showing her that it’s possible to choose to destroy the very thing you’re most dependent on—and in that act lies true freedom. That dependence is what she mistook for love—not romantic love, but an attachment born out of reliance and submission.

I also wonder if Ymir represents the mythos of unconditional love—something almost Christ-like. Her willingness to endure punishment, enslavement, and humiliation without resistance could be seen as an expression of that love taken to its extreme. But instead of salvation, her sacrifice leads to devastation: a genocidal chain of events that wipes out 80% of humanity. It's a tragic subversion of the goddess archetype—one where divine compassion and passivity don't lead to redemption, but to catastrophe.

Feel free to share your thoughts.
