Huge plot hole with royal blood

Bro I am so confused and I think im going crazy and must be missing some sort of information. Ymir has 3 kids with King Fritz. Maria, Rose, and Sina. So this means all of them have royal blood correct? So every single subject of Ymir has royal blood? Am I missing something or is this just one of the biggest plot holes ever.

I like Mikasa for the exact reason many hate her

Let me be clear: Mikasa's character growth is nowhere near perfect. Compared to the guys in the trio, her development is slower and limited and I have miles of speech about how Isayama wastes his female characters (not just Mikasa).

But when people say they hate her for "no other motive than being there with Eren", I have to say out of everything, her motive is what I like about her.

I see nothing wrong with just wishing for a peaceful home with the one you love. Personal happiness isn't necessarily a weaker goal than freedom or revenge or truth and so on, especially for a girl with a childhood trauma and always living in a constant fear of losing her family for 10 years (she starves herself into a skeleton upon learning Eren and Armin are under the Titan 13-year curse).

In a literature context, I understand why it's less appealing, standing next to characters with admittedly more interesting journeys, but in life, seeking for personal love and peace under wartime is as mundane as it is relatable and respectable.

And note that she doesn't sit back and wait until someone delivers the dream life to her on a silver platter. She wants a home and a family, so she will fight for it, protect it, accompany it through ups and downs even if fate isn't in her favor. She even goes as desperate as trying to break Hange's arm for Armin - who is also her family.

I think "Lost girls" is a good theme for Mikasa (and Annie). Unlike their peers, the girls take part in the war without a long and concrete vision because deep down they don't want to be there. Mikasa wants a safe home with Eren, (Annie with her father). The good thing is Mikasa always gives her best in a battle, cares for her friends, never steps away from the frontlines, full-on ready to sacrifice her own life. She (and Annie) are among the best soldiers, but many times they look so lost in their "badass" military performance. It's their paradox but also a valuable trait: they find themselves in not-an-ideal situation, but they don't mope or complain or throw a tantrum. They adapt and live on.

There are many things I want to change with Mikasa but never her central themes: "lost girls" paralleling Annie, and "preserving beauty in a cruel world" tieing to her relationship with Eren. It's arguably very potential.

However, I wish Isayama dropped the rushed "chosen by Ymir" plot and instead focused on developing her connection with Hizuru, Louise and Ackerman clan, to add more layers of beauty and cruelty in Mikasa's observation of life. I'm so disappointed that he introduced some materials just to throw them all out. Or, if he really wanted her to be the chosen one, set some groundwork for her connection with Ymir throughout the show, don't leave it so last-minute.
