Mike Zacharius deserved so much better
Of all the fictional character deaths which have affected me—and there are several which have had me heartbroken and in tears—Mike’s is the one which shakes me most. It shocked me to the core when I read it in the manga and still shakes me badly now when I rewatch. It is so cruel, unnecessarily so.
Mike deserved so much more. I saw a post about this the other day but god, do I wish his death was atleast acknowledged. I hate what happens to him. And I hate Zeke for it even more. Standing there saying “Oh, so you can speak” while Mike screams no, crying while being torn apart, set my heart into stone against Zeke forever. I don’t know the ultimate story behind Zeke, having dropped out some time into Marley’s first appearance in the manga, but I will always, always hate him for what he did to Mike. There is absolutely nothing which can redeem him in my eyes.

Whos a character that you think was killed off way to early and would've loved to see more of their skills and learn more about them as a character?

What scene is this from? It feels like I saw this kind of scene before, but I can't remember where.

What were the best/most shocking moments you completely forgot about before rewatching AOT?
I just completed my first AOT rewatch, and honestly it was a lot of fun. I absolutely loved almost every single minute of it, and looking back I believe I underrated this show, even though I always had it as one of my favorites!
So to answer my own question, I think one of the most iconic scenes I forgot was when Erwin leads the charge to take Eren back from the warriors, gets caught by a random pure titan and screams ''I said advance goddamnit'' hanging out of the titans mouth pointing his sword forwards hyping up the scouts, before getting involved himself cutting Eren free. What a guy, definitely one of the most iconic moments of the show imo. I also forgot how Reiner just casually confesses the truth to Eren on top of the wall around everyone else, and how we can hear the others talking with Reiner's confession in the background.
When rewatching the ending movie, I was caught off guard at the post credit scene where we see Paradis get nuked in the future! It somehow completely escaped my mind, but I felt that it was fitting. Characters from all sides kept on repeating that ''this world is so cruel'', so I think it is poetic that Eren was only able to buy about a century of peace in the world, enough for his friends to live happy lives before it reverted back to the cruel place it will always be due to millennia of war leading to a world where fear prohibits people from living in peace.
