as a trans person my biggest “passing” happens when i don’t try. when i actually am prepared for misgendering, when i do a little bit of drag, when i wear whatever i want without worrying whether i’ll pass.

and im pretty sure i know why - confidence. cis people usually don’t worry about their gender, and i think trying hard to pass just makes me look nervous and insecure, and when i don’t try and just exist - that’s what people see, they see me just existing and they perceive me in a way that aligns with me way more

Good Idea: "Pleasure Management" instead of "War on Drugs"

https://www.forbes.com/sites/javierhasse/2025/08/18/the-economics-of-pleasure-how-a-new-approach-to-drug-use-could-save-millions/

Many people use drugs not just out of hardship but because they bring pleasure, connection, or belonging, yet policy often ignores this reality and focuses only on punishment and risks. A growing movement of researchers and harm reduction workers argues that recognizing pleasure as a motivator could save lives and reduce costs. They call this “pleasure management,” which means helping people use more mindfully, creating safer spaces, tailoring messages to different communities, and supporting services like drug checking. Evidence from clinics, nightlife, and community projects shows that when people are treated with dignity and given tools to balance enjoyment with safety, overdoses drop, health improves, and governments spend less.
