Geolocation in Telegram Stories

In the Beta version of Telegram for Android, the ability to mark your location or landmark within a Telegram Story using a geotag has been introduced.

To add a location to a future story, press the sticker icon in the bottom panel of the editor, find the "Stickers" option, and then select the special sticker labeled "Add Location" (it will appear at the top of the tab, above all your other stickers).

When adding a geotag, you can specify any point on the map or choose one from the list – it doesn't necessarily have to match the place where you are currently located or where the photo or video was taken.

Limit on the Number of Posted Stories per Day

In the Beta version of Telegram for Android, when a user without a Premium subscription attempts to publish more than three stories within a day, a warning about reaching the daily limit will be displayed.

The information in the popup states that users with a Telegram Premium subscription will be able to post up to 100 stories (instead of the standard three) within a 24-hour period.

It's worth noting that this is only the Beta version of the messenger, so the maximum values might still change before the update is finalized.

Translation in Media Viewer

In the Beta version of Telegram for Android, there is now a new option that allows translating text within media editor.

To translate the caption of a media file during its fullscreen viewing, you need to select the "Translate" option from the menu accessed by the three-dot button.

Repost Icon in Chat List

In the Beta version of Telegram for Android, a repost icon is now displayed next to the names of some chats in the general dialog list.

The icon appears if the latest message in that chat was forwarded from another chat or channel.

To sum up, this icon is displayed in channels, groups that are linked to channel where the last message is forwarded from a linked channel and in saved messages.

Restricting Story Viewing

In the Beta version of Telegram for Android, you can now choose users who won't be able to view your stories, even if these contacts are included in the access level you've set for a specific story.

This means that if a selected person is part of one of your lists ("Everyone," "My Contacts," "Close Friends," "Selected Contacts"), but at the same time, they are marked in the "Hide My Stories from..." exclusion list, your published stories won't be visible to them.

Managing the List of Story Viewers

The Beta version of Telegram for Android has introduced an improved list of users who have viewed your Telegram story.

Now, if the number of viewers reaches 20 people, the list will feature a search bar and will divide users into "All Viewers" and your "Contacts."

If the number of people who have left quick reactions on the story reaches 5 people, the viewers' list will also have the option to sort users by their latest reactions and last views.

Additionally, options for quickly preventing a specific user from viewing your stories and blocking them (if they are your contact, you will be prompted to delete them from your contact list) have become available. To use these options, press and hold the name of the selected person and perform the desired action.

Enhanced Story Editing

In the Beta version of Telegram for Android, when making changes to a story, you can now edit previously added text, move stickers, photos, and other elements.

Previously, objects added to a story couldn't be edited – you could only overlay new elements on top of existing ones.
