Message Channels

In the Beta version of Telegram for iOS 11.12 (30793), users may now send messages to channel admins, the channel "teleLakel" reports.

The price for messages may range from 0 to 10,000 Telegram stars. Previously, this feature appeared in Telegram for macOS.

The feature is currently in early development, only works on the test server, and may change in the future.

Messages to Channels

The beta version of Telegram for Android 11.12 now allows users to send messages to channel admins.

Channel owners may enable this option in the settings of their channels and set the price that users will have to pay for sending messages: from 0 to 10,000 stars.

When this option is enabled, the application creates a new chat marked as Channel Messages. This chat looks like a forum and is available to all channel administrators. A new topic is created in this forum for each user who has sent a message to the channel.

All channel administrators see all messages sent by users, and administrators with the "Post Messages" permission may reply to them.

This function is currently only available on the test server.

Sending High-Quality Images

The beta version of Telegram for Android 11.12 now allows users to send high-quality images.

To do this, tap the "HD" button under the photo prior to sending it. When set to HD, the image is cropped to 2048 pixels on its longest side, as opposed to 1280 pixels in SD and in prior versions of the app.

Voice Message Trimming

The beta version of Telegram for Android 11.12 now allows users to trim voice messages prior to sending them.

To do this, you need to move your finger up from the microphone icon during recording and press the pause button. After that, you will be able to trim the resulting recording from both the beginning and end.

After trimming, you may continue recording your voice message.

Forum Topics As Tabs

In the beta version of Telegram for Android 11.12, forum administrators may now customize the way topics are displayed. Two options are available: "Tabs" and "List".

The setting changes the appearance of the forum for all its participants.

In the beta version of Telegram for Android 11.12, the maximum number of responses that may be specified when creating a poll has been increased from 10 to 12.

Collaborative To-Do Lists

The beta version of Telegram for iOS 11.13 (30945) introduces the ability to create to-do lists.

Each list may contain up to 30 tasks and their creation is available in both personal and group chats.

When created in a group, there are additional options:
• Collaborative tasks. You may allow all participants to add new tasks.
• Collaborative status management. You may also allow other users to mark and unmark tasks as “completed”. In this case, the avatar of the person who completed the task is displayed next to the check mark.
