π¨ Windows 10 Will End Today π¨ Today, October 14, 2025, marks the official end of free support from Microsoft. After this date, Microsoft will no longer provide free security updates, technical support, or software updates for Windows 10. But don't panic;β¦
What Does This Meanβ
Microsoft is stopping all free security updates, bug fixes, and technical support for Windows 10 after October 14, 2025.
You'll get one last security patch today, but after that, no more automatic protections. Your computer will keep running as usual, but it'll become more vulnerable to hackers, viruses, and new threats over time.
Will My PC Suddenly Stop Workingβ
No! Windows 10 won't "shut down" or become unusable today. All your files, apps, and settings stay intact. However, without updates, security risks will grow. If you're in a business or handling sensitive data, this is a bigger deal, time to act fast.
Is this just a scare tactic to sell Windows 11β
Not really. it's part of the 10-year lifecycle Microsoft planned since 2015. But yes, it pushes upgrades and could create e-waste if folks ditch working PCs.
Can I ignore and keep using Windows 10β
Technically yes, but not recommended. Unpatched systems are prime targets for cyberattacks. If you're casual and careful (good antivirus, avoid shady sites), you might be okay short-term, but long-term? Upgrade.
What Can You Do Right Now?
β Upgrade to Windows 11 for Free
If your PC meets the requirements (like having TPM 2.0 and a compatible processor), head to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. It's seamless and keeps you updated. Not sure if your hardware qualifies? Use Microsoft's PC Health Check tool to verify.
β Stick with Windows 10 but Pay for Security
Microsoft offers Extended Security Updates (ESU). For consumers, it's $30 for the first year (with possible free options in the US via enrollment). Prices double each year after that, up to 3 years max. Businesses pay more. Enroll via the Microsoft Store or their website, even if you're late, you can still sign up.
β Switch to Alternatives: If upgrading isn't possible (e.g., old hardware), try free OS like Linux (Ubuntu is beginner-friendly). It runs on most PCs, is secure, and has tons of free software. Or, consider buying a new Windows 11-compatible device if your budget allows.

π¨ Localhost Issue After Recent Windows 11 Update? Here's what we know! π¨
The recent Windows 11 update (KB5066835, dropped on Oct 14) broke "localhost" (127.0.0.1) for many, causing "ERR_CONNECTION_RESET" or pages not loading.
Whatβs Happening Nowβ
Microsoft confirmed the bug Oct 17 and released a fix Oct 18 via a Known Issue Rollback (KIR) + a Microsoft Defender update (KB2267602). This fixed the issue for many, but it may take 48h to reach all devices. A permanent patch is still coming.
What Can You Doβ
1β£ Update Windows: Settings > Windows Update > Check. Install, restart your PC.
2β£ Update Defender: Windows Security(search in start) > Virus & threat protection > Check. Install, restart, test.
3β£ Uninstall Problem Update: Still broken? Go to Settings > Windows Update > Update history > Uninstall. Find KB5066835 (KB5065789 if present), uninstall, restart, pause updates.
πCheck Microsoftβs support page for updates. Drop a comment if youβre still stuck.
