Though I think it goes both ways, I can only speak for the right wing side of political groups, because that’s the side I was on for so long.
That said, all of these groups eventually become or are from the beginning fed traps. If you’re not a fed informant in one of these groups, you are a pawn in a shitty game, led to believe you will somehow make a difference by rioting or doing lines of coke in an AirBnB bathroom.
