Unpopular opinion: It's not rude; it's never improper to call out an actor/actress for failing to do their one job: Acting. I don't see why we need to sugarcoat if someone gave a bad performance or is known to be a poor actor

I know I will get a lot of hate, but one territory where I think there's no need for unnecessary politeness or sugarcoating or gentleness is criticising someone for failing to do something that they are hired for or known to be an expert/professional.

I am a journalist, and if my writing is subpar, I know my manager won't hold back in saying how trash I am at my job.

If an IT professional's new app dysfunctions, he will rightly be called a shite engineer.

So why on earth is diplomacy needed when calling an actor's performance trash? Or acknowledge they are really piss-poor at acting without bothering to mince words?

Recently, a critic was called out here for calling an actress who's known to be very weak in acting, and many people called him insensitive.

I read the comment he made, and I fail to see what is so controversial about it.

The star is known to be subpar as an actor, and I fail to see what's so cruel about being honest about it.

I don't care if a star is known to be a gem of a person off-screen.

I don't care if they have crossed many personal hurdles to succeed.

Don't care if they are insider/outsider, came from nothing.

What does that have to do with how good/bad they are at their job?

Which Bollywood star’s life seems the most luxurious yet content to you like someone who has both comfort and peace? Or in other words whose life would you want to trade places with?
