Hong Kong Watch welcomes Erin O’Toole MP, the Conservative Party leadership candidate's support for a Young Talents Scheme to help Hong Kongers in need of a lifeline and calls for Magnitsky sanctions on Chinese Officials who perpetrate human rights abuses in Hong Kong. Canada must play its part alongside likeminded countries in standing up for Hong Kong through a coordinated strategy of diplomacy, refuge, and sanctions.
//Support the brave people of Hong Kong fighting for freedom against the Communist Chinese regime by:
Supporting a “Young Talents” program to encourage young people from Hong Kong to come to Canada to study;
Not using any arrest, charge or conviction for protesting in Hong Kong as a rationale to deny visas; and
Making it easier for the Hong Kong Canadian community to sponsor the refugee applications of pro-democracy activists fleeing Communist repression.//

Holding the Chinese Regime Accountable
For Canadians, there is no greater geopolitical issue than dealing with the Communist Party of China's intentions to impose its own model of authoritarian governance on the world and erode a rules-based approach.
Any serious candidate for the office of the Prime Minister today needs a plan to deal with China.
Across the world, the People's Republic of China has initiated a powerful challenge to the international order. The regime takes Canadians hostage and targets Canadian farmers to try to blackmail our government, it confines its Uyghur minority in concentration camps, tortures dissidents, deploys artificial intelligence to control its people and stokes ethnic chauvinism domestically and around the world. The Communist Party of China betrayed Hong Kongers and the world by abandoning its commitment to their autonomy, with expansionist legislation that imposes punishment on Canadians well beyond China’s borders. In Canada, it monitors Canadian citizens and companies, infiltrates our universities, and intimidates Chinese Canadians. Its expansionism threatens our allies and trading partners across the Indo-Pacific, with recent aggression against India resulting in 20 Indian Armed Forces killed in action.
For Canadians, there is no greater geopolitical issue than dealing with the Communist Party of China’s intentions to impose its own model of authoritarian governance on the world and erode a rules-based approach. And just as any serious candidate for Prime Minister during the Cold War needed a serious plan for dealing with the Soviet Union, any serious candidate for the office today needs a plan to deal with China.
When elected, Prime Minister Erin O’Toole will recognize the challenge to Canadian life and the negative impact on democratic countries by working with other free countries to push back against the bad actions of the Chinese Communist Party.
Trudeau’s approach to China has been an abject failure. After revealing how much he admired the regime’s dictatorship, he spent his first years in office in a futile bid for a free trade deal at the expense of Indo Pacific partners, and an extradition treaty at the expense of Canadians, particularly Chinese Canadians. His weakness convinced Beijing that Canada could be easily pushed around, putting our citizens at risk and making our farmers targets.
ERIN’S RECORD IS BEYOND REPROACH:
He was one of the first Canadian officials to call for Huawei to be banned from Canada’s 5G infrastructure.
He called for Canada to champion Taiwan’s membership of the World Health Organization and the International Civil Aviation Organization.
He stood up for Hong Kongers and against the erosion of the One Country, Two Systems agreement.
He created a Parliamentary Oversight Committee to review Canada’s relationship with China, which was the first vote Trudeau lost in the minority Parliament.
His service in the Canadian Armed Forces and work on international trade in the private sector and government has allowed him to champion an interests-led foreign policy
for Canada.
Our allies will take our Prime Minister seriously again once Erin wins the next election.
AN O’TOOLE GOVERNMENT WILL STAND SHOULDER TO SHOULDER WITH EVERY CANADIAN, THE PEOPLE OF CHINA, AND NATIONS DETERMINED TO CONFRONT THE PRC’S INTERNATIONAL AGGRESSION:
Build an international coalition to decouple free and market societies from the People’s Republic of China.
Establish a powerful security partnership with India bilaterally including counter terror, and airforce/naval cooperation, toward the strategic management of the Indo-Pacific region;
Level up meaningful partnerships with the US, Japan, Australia and South Korea in intelligence and interoperability;
Lead international economic policy by engaging G7 partners plus India, South Korea and Australia toward banning PRC controlled firms from accessing capital markets, decoupling global supply chains benefitting the Communist Party of China, and develop trusted relationships between markets that are governed by the

Urgent Call for your Support to "Tiananmen Massacre Memorial Museum" by Hong Kong Alliance
July 21, 2020
On the 31st anniversary of Tiananmen Massacre in June 2020, Hong Kong Alliance announced a plan to establish a "Tiananmen Massacre Memorial Museum" on the Internet. The online museum will permanently organize and preserve historical archives scattered throughout the world, the relics of the victims of the June 4th Movement, and evidence of the CCP massacre. It is the hope that such action will prevent history from being altered or erased in the future. The museum has launched a crowdfunding project on "Kickstarter", an international crowdfunding platform, to reach everyone around the world who is concerned about the Tiananmen Massacre. The goal is to raise HK$1.5 million on or before August 2. If the goal cannot be reached, the project will be dismissed and the pledged amount will be refunded.
As the founding chairperson of Toronto Association for Democracy in China, I would like to call on all friends to support this project which will define history. Your generous donation is critical for the success of the project. To refresh you with some historical facts of "June 4th", an article I wrote last year on the 30th anniversary of Tiananmen Massacre "Why are they so afraid of people mentioning June 4th" (in Chinese) is enclosed for your reference.
Only one week is left to the crowdfunding deadline and the pledge is at 65%. I therefore urge everyone to take action now. The project will go ahead only when the fundraising goal can be achieved. The shadow of the Hong Kong National Security Law extends to every corner of the world. Even though donor information is stored on the crowdfunding platform in the United States, many may still hesitate to make a pledge. If you have such a concern, TADC is here to help. Your donation will go to TADC and all collected donations will then be donated as one lump sum in the name of "A group of Torontonians". Donors will not be included in the crowdfunding project in any way. For detailed arrangements, please refer to TADC website and make donation through e-Transfer to [email protected] (from Canadian bank account only). A few organizations in Canada and the US are also collecting donation for the crowdfunding project. For those not living in Toronto, please contact your local organizations. For any inquiries, please email [email protected].
Time is running out. Let's all act immediately!
Thanks and Regards

Donors will not be included in the crowdfunding project in any way. For detailed arrangements, please refer to TADC website and make donation through e-Transfer to [email protected] (from Canadian bank account only). A few organizations in Canada and the US are also collecting donation for the crowdfunding project. For those not living in Toronto, please contact your local organizations. For any inquiries, please email [email protected].
Time is running out. Let's all act immediately!
Thanks and Regards

Every Canadian needs to know the truth about the Chinese regime.
🇨🇦Canada must become stronger, smarter and more self-reliant.
With a seat in parliament, I'm ready to stand up for Canadians on Day One as Conservative leader.
