THE FIRST CANONIZED NON-MARTYR MALE DOMINICAN LAY TERTIARIES
---
There had been Dominicans from the first order (priests and brothers) and second order (nuns) who have been canonized. There had been Dominican female lay tertiaries, priest tertiaries, and male martyred tertiaries who had been canonized as well. But only in 2025 did we have canonized non-martyr male lay Dominican tertiaries. The first one was canonized last September: St. Pier Giorgio Frassati. The second one was canonized last Sunday: St. Bartolo Longo.
