To preview a chat, simply press and hold its profile picture in your chat list. You can take a new photo, upload an existing one, search the web for a new image, or remove your current photo. Speaking of multiples, Telegram allows you to upload additional profile photos. While the latest photo is the profile picture your contacts will see, they can swipe to see the rest of your pictures.

Last year, Telegram brought a unique feature that allows you to discover Telegram users and groups based on your location. This comes really handy when you want to add someone to your Telegram without sharing your mobile number. Also, if you are going to conferences, campuses or festivals, you can find several groups related to the place and event just like that. To add nearby people, open the Telegram menu and go to “Contacts”. Here, tap on “Add People Nearby” and there you have it. Users who wish to be discovered by this feature can turn it on in the hamburger menu/People Nearby/Make myself visible. In fact, Telegram has solved the issue with its Secret Chat feature. This update brings improved chat previews on par with iOS. Now you can scroll through them to view the whole chat without marking it as read. When sending large files shared from another app on iOS, you can now watch an animated progress bar to find out if you have enough time for a tea or if you should stick with espresso. On desktop applications, chat folders are displays in the sidebar. In the mobile app, these folders are arranged in tabs that can be easily swiped between.
